'The Dark Knight Rises' teaser trailer

When I woke up this morning, I assumed that today's film blogs would be mostly reporting on the enormous success of the final installment of the "Harry Potter" series, but I was pleasantly suprised to find that the internet was going berserk over the release of a teaser trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises."

I am glad Nolan's team did this as I was sick of hearing rumor after rumor regarding all that might be happening on the set. While the trailer isn't mind-blowing, it does feature some new shots of Tom Hardy as Bane. Check it out for yourself below. The anticipated flick opens July 20, 2012.

What do you think of this trailer? Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star. Alas, "The Dark Knight Rises" will be the last of the fantastic series.

Tom Hardy attached to Al Capone biopic

With the final installment of “Harry Potter” already cleaning up at the box office, people are wondering what director David Yates is going to tackle next.  Before taking the helm of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” Yates was only known as a television director.  Now he is one of the hottest commodities in Hollywood.

In the recent past, Yates said his next project would be much smaller than the giant production we’ve seen in “Harry Potter.”  However, rumor has it that he is interested in helming the Al Capone biopic “Cicero,” and now Tom Hardy (“Inception,” “Bronson”) will supposedly play the iconic gangster. (via Slashfilm

Having Hardy attached to the film, with a script originally written by Walon Green, some believe this project has more than enough potential to be spread out over multiple films.  Maybe David Yates won’t be making a smaller film after all.

Tom Hardy to star in 'Batman 3'

Every piece of news regarding Christopher Nolan's "Batman 3" is pretty much compelling, including this latest casting announcement: Tom Hardy will play a major role in the "The Dark Knight" sequel.

Deadline says no details about his role are known at this point, but it seems Hardy may end up playing a villain. At least that's what I hope will happen. Hardy last collaborated with Nolan on "Inception."

Hardy, who also starred in "Bronson" and "RocknRolla," has several gigs lined up. He will star in "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and "This Means War," and he's also still attached to star in "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Tom Hardy joins 'This Means War' cast

McG's action flick "The Means War" is still happening, but it won't happen with Sam Worthington, who was attached to the project for a while. The "Avatar" star is now gone, and the role is going to someone else.

That guy is Tom Hardy, according to Vulture. Word is Hardy has signed on to star in "War," which follows two best friends as they launch into an escalating war when they both fall in love with the same woman.

The woman is Reese Witherspoon. Chris Pine plays the other guy. Bradley Cooper was also once attached to the film, but he dropped it as well. Hardy ("RocknRolla") can currently be seen in "Inception."

Nick Nolte boards O'Connor's 'Warrior'

Nick Nolte is set to star in Gavin O'Connor's upcoming drama "Warrior" for Lionsgate. Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Morrison are also on board to star.

According to Variety, Nolte will play a Vietnam vet and steel mill worker whose alcohol problems pretty much destroyed his family.

After sobering up, however, he's ready to reconnect with his youngest son (Hardy) and train him in martial arts. The latter will later face his older brother (Edgerton).

O'Connor, whose credits include "Miracle" and "Pride and Glory," is directing a script he wrote with Anthony Tambakis.

Nolte was last seen in "Tropic Thunder." He will also be seen in Olivier Dahan's upcoming film "My Own Love Song."

As for Hardy, his credits include "RocknRolla" and "Layer Cake." Edgerton starred in "King Arthur" and "Smokin' Aces."
