Red Band 'Leaves of Grass' trailer is funny

Edward Norton and Edward Norton in Leaves of Grass

Well, it's kind of funny. Mostly, Tim Blake Nelson's upcoming crime comedy "Leaves of Grass" looks incredibly silly, but in an amusing way. A new red band trailer for the film is now online.

In a double performance, Edward Norton plays Bill Kincaid, an Ivy League classics professor who returns to rural Oklahoma to bury his dangerously brilliant identical twin brother Brady (also Norton).

But soon after he arrives, he discovers that the brother he believes has been murdered has actually lured him home to involve him in a doomed plot against a local drug lord (Richard Dreyfuss).

Tim Blake Nelson talks The Leader in 'Hulk 2'

Although a sequel to "The Incredible Hulk" hasn't really been officially confirmed yet, chances are we'll sooner or later see one anyway.

No matter what will happen, "Hulk 2" already seems to have its villain. And according to AICN, that villain is the Leader.

In a recent interview, Tim Blake Nelson, who played Samuel Sterns in the recent "Hulk" reboot, told AICN that he may be the main bad guy in the sequel.

"That’s the plan. That’s what they tell me, but I don’t know when that’s happening or what the details are but I am eager to do it and I hear that’s in the works. I would tell you if I knew more, but I honestly don’t," he told Quint.

For Nelson, playing the Leader would mark hs debut as a comic-book villain. He said, "No, but I had a great time doing HULK, so if they want me for HULK 2 I’m there, it certainly was the plan going into HULK 1."

So, "Incredible Hulk" fans, what have you to say about this? Does this sound exciting? Or should they leave it at that now and not do another movie? Sound off below.

Sarandon, Dreyfuss pick up ‘Leaves of Grass’

Susan Sarandon and Richard Dreyfuss are the latest to join the cast of Tim Blake Nelson’s upcoming comedy thriller “Leaves of Grass,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Also starring is Edward Norton, who will play twin brothers. One of them is a highly regarded philosophy professor, while the other spends his time growing marijuana. In a sudden turn of events, the professor must return to his Oklahoma hometown, where he goes against a local drug lord.

Dreyfuss portrays the drug baron, while Sarandon plays the brothers’ mother. Nelson stars as one of the brothers’ best friend. Also on board are Lucy DeVito, Rhea Perlman and Steve Earle.

THR says Nelson wrote the script with Norton in mind, although the actor didn’t show much interest in the project until he finally read the script. Produced on a small budget, “Grass” is scheduled to head into principal photography later this month.

Sarandon was last seen in “Speed Racer.” She recently wrapped filming for Peter Jackson’s upcoming adaptation of “The Lovely Bones.”

As for Dreyfuss, he will next star in Oliver Stone’s George W. Bush biopic “W.” He will also be seen in next year’s Donald Petrie-directed comedy “My Life in Ruins.”

Short takes: Max Thieriot is a 'Prodigy'

• Max Thieriot has signed on to star as the lead in "Prodigy," a sci-fi thriller directed by Chuck Russell, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Thieriot ("Nancy Drew") plays a boarding school student who's implicated in the mysterious murders of several alumni.

Variety reports Steve Buscemi, Emily Mortimer and Tim Blake Nelson (among others) are starring in Hue Rhodes' directorial debut "Saint John of Las Vegas." Buscemi plays a former gambler who's coached by an insurance fraud investigator.

• Channing Tatum is set to star in Richie Smyth's untitled project about Parkour, an extreme sport in which fearless athletes jump from rooftops. I know there was a French flick about exactly that before, but I can't recall the title now. (Variety)

• Early numbers published by Variety indicate David Gordon Green's stoner action comedy "Pineapple Express" scored $12.1 million Wednesday. Meanwhile, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" took home $5.7 million.
