Ten Worst Films of 2009

Yes, the year 2009 is history, so it's time for me to pick the films I hated most. Unfortunately, I've seen many terrible films this year, which makes it all too easy to find the 10 flicks I couldn't stand at all in '09.

It is a sad truth, but the quantity of lame movies always overpowers the selection of good films each year, and 2009 was no different. Hence, I found myself thinking about leaving the theater more than once.

Films such as "Bride Wars," "Shorts," "Whiteout" and "New in Town" were really painful to watch, yes, but to be honest, I encountered a whole bunch of flicks that were far worse. Enjoy the selection below.

Movie Review: “The Stepfather”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: October 17, 2009

The players: Director: Nelson McCormick, Writer: J.S. Cardone, Cast: Dylan Walsh, Sela Ward, Penn Badgley, Amber Heard, Sherry Stringfield

Facts of interest: Another remake...

The plot: A crazy dude pretends to be the sweet stepfather but ends up going nuts and killing entire families.

Our thoughts: To tell you the truth, I could have done a way better movie with every single dollar they wasted on Nelson McCormick’s disastrous remake “The Stepfather,” a film so ridiculously predictable and boring, it really made me want to get up and tear the screen apart. Yeah, it is really THAT bad!

The 'Wild Things' rule the box office Friday

Where the Wild Things Are

"Where the Wild Things Are" scores big while "Paranormal Activity" surprises even more!

Spike Jonze's big-screen adaptation of Maurice Sendak's book "Where the Wild Things Are" stormed to the top of the North American box office Friday with a solid $11.9 million in ticket sales at 3,735 locations.

The film starring Max Records as a lonely boy escaping into his imagination delivered a superb start, and I'm glad it did. It's a truly wonderful adaptation I can only recommend you see if you haven't already.
