Hilary Swank gears up for 'Resident'

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has signed on to star in Antti J. Jokinen's directorial debut "The Resident," according to Variety.

The thriller focuses on a doctor (Swank) who moves into a new Brooklyn loft and quickly discovers her landlord is a stalker.

Jokinen wrote the script with Robert Orr, and Erin Cressida Wilson recently completed a rewrite. The trade says production is scheduled to start on the East Coast in May.

Swank most recently starred in the disappointing romance drama "P.S. I Love You." She will next be seen in Mira Nair's Amelia Earhart biopic "Amelia."
