Louis Leterrier would do 'Hulk 2' while Matthew Vaughn would love to direct 'Avengers'

The Incredible Hulk meets the Avengers

While I did not entirely enjoy Ang Lee's "Hulk" from a few years ago, I admit I had quite a blast watching "The Incredible Hulk" from director Louis Leterrier, whose credits also include the so-so "Danny the Dog" and okay "Transporter 2."

Well, according to Moviehole, Leterrier wouldn't mind stepping behind the camera for a "Hulk" sequel. "Sure. I'd return to it. I have some ideas. So many ideas for so many things," Leterrier told the Web site.

Kevin Feige talks 'Iron Man 2' & 'Captain America'

Marvel big shot Kevin Feige recently talked to Comic Book Resources and chatted quite a bit about "Iron Man 2," "Captain America" and "The Avengers." He definitely had a couple of interesting things to say about the anticipated "Iron Man" follow-up, and you can check out the best quotes just below.

On what they wanted to improve in "Iron Man 2," Feige said he wants the showdown in No. 2 to be more spectacular.

'Avengers' pushed back; 'Spidey 4' gets date

Marvel Studios has set and moved around several release dates for some of its upcoming superhero films.

First and foremost, "The Avengers" is now scheduled to open May 4, 2012. The film's original release date was July 15, 2011.

Marvel has also set the release for "Spider-Man 4" to May 6, 2011. "Thor" will open June 17 the same year, pushed away from its original 2010 release.

Finally, "The First Avenger: Captain America" will arrive in theaters July 22, 2011. As for "Iron Man 2," it's still set to open May 7, 2010.

Even though some 2011 spots have not been filled by other studios, it sure looks like Marvel will dominate the summer of 2011.

I'm willing to wait for "The Avengers" a little longer. To be honest, the one I'm looking forward most among these flick is "Iron Man 2," and luckily, it'll be the first to open.

Robert Downey Jr. talks 'Avengers' movie

Aren't we all happy Robert Downey Jr. has had such a great year? First he rocked the big screen as a solid Tony Stark in the awesome "Iron Man," and then he delivered a hilarious performance as an actor having a controversial surgery to portray an African American solider in "Tropic Thunder."

The great news is that Downey Jr.'s career certainly doesn't there. Besides returning as Stark in "Iron Man 2," the actor also recently signed on to play Stark in the upcoming "The Avengers" flick, which is currently scheduled for release in 2011.

The folks over at MTV decided they simply had to talk to the man, and here is a snippet of what he had to say about the "Avengers" movie:

“It has to be the crowning blow of Marvel’s best and brightest because it’s the hardest thing to get right. It’s tough to spin all the plates for one of these characters.”

He certainly got that right. Read more about this over at MTV if you would like. Meanwhile, let me know below just how excited you are about the second "Iron Man" and "The Avengers."

Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark in ‘Avengers’

Great news for all Robert Downey Jr. fans! Marvel Studios today announced the actor will appear as Tony Stark in the upcoming “The Avengers.”

In the film, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and others team up to battle the biggest foe they've ever faced.

We obviously knew Downey Jr. would return as Stark in “Iron Man 2,” but this is definitely an awesome update. Who could have honestly replaced him? Right, nobody!

Marvel also announced that Jon Favreau will serve as executice producer on the “Avengers” project, which is currently scheduled for a 2011 release. Favreau also returns behind the camera for the anticipated “Iron Man” sequel.

In related news, the studio officially confirmed Don Cheadle will play James Rhodes in “Iron Man 2” and “The Avengers.”

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, said he’s excited about working with Cheadle.

“It has already become apparent as we prep the movie for production, that the dynamic between Robert and Don will take 'Iron Man 2' to new heights," he said.

As I mentioned last week, I absolutely loved Terrence Howard as Rhodes in the first movie, and while I’m sad he’ll not return, I’m sure Cheadle will do just fine.

Ed Norton waiting for new 'Hulk' offer

Edward Norton seems to be ready to jump straight back into the role of Bruce Banner, but no one has offered him anything yet. According to MTV, Norton said Marvel Studios just isn't contacting him with an offer for a sequel.

Maybe Ed's just a little impatient? “The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque,” Norton told MTV News. “I won’t say [they're] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.”

Whatever happens with a sequel to "The Incredible Hulk" or the upcoming "The Avengers" flick, I hope they do offer Norton a role. After all, he's done a fabulous job playing the angry green machine in this summer's successfull blockbuster.
