Jaime Bell heads to 'The Retreat'

Jamie Bell is the latest to join Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton in Carl Tibbets' directorial debut "The Retreat," a new thriller shooting this month, according to Deadline. Tibbets wrote the script.

The story follows a couple heading to an island to enjoy a vacation and work on their broken relationship. Alas, when they find a dead soldier, they soon realize everyone has been killed by a airborne virus.

Cool concept for sure. Think of it as a more serious "Couples Retreat." Anyway, Bell scored the lead in "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn." He'll also show up in "The Eagle" and "Jane Eyre."

Movie Review: “2012”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: November 13, 2009

The players: Director: Roland Emmerich, Writers: Roland Emmerich, Harald Kloser, Cast: John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt

Facts of interest: None, really.

The plot: As the world comes to an end in the year 2012, a group of brave people try to survive the cataclysms surrounding them.

Our thoughts: Roland Emmerich’s latest apocalyptic big-screen spectacle works best as a comedy. The film boasts a number of excellent laughs, and that’s the main reason I found it moderately enjoyable. Other than that, it’s nothing more than yet another utterly ridiculous, overblown sci-fi action piece about the end of the world.

Crazy action-packed 5-minute scene from '2012'

Scene from 2012

John Cusack is the best driver and luckiest bastard you'll ever get to see on the big screen. I mean, this guy drives a limo across Los Angeles as the entire city is being destroyed. Don't believe me? See below!

A five-minute clip from Roland Emmerich's upcoming apocalyptic action flick "2012" debuted on TV today, and the clip is now online. It's incredibly ridiculous, folks, but somehow, it's also somewhat entertaining.

Three new posters for Emmerich's '2012'

Roland Emmerich is putting an end to the world yet again in "2012," his latest apocalyptic action spectacle that we'll get to see in theaters Nov. 13, 2009. Just yesterday we got a look at a new Japanese trailer with plenty of new footage from the film, and today, I've found three new posters via Yahoo!

As you can see after the jump, they show an awful amount of destruction. Bye bye Los Angeles, bye bye White House and see ya Rio de Janeiro. As usual, keep in mind that fancy posters and spectacular trailers don't mean we're in for a fantastic Emmerich film. His couple of previous ones kind of sucked.
