"Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" delivered a massive international debut this weekend with an estimated $148 million in ticket sales. Domestically, the animated sequel drew $42.5 million.

At a distant No. 2, Michael Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" picked up $55.3 million, lifting its overseas total to $298 million. The action flick has collected $591.5 million to date.

Meanwhile, Todd Phillips' comedy "The Hangover" picked up another $8.7 million in 30 markets, bringing its cumulative gross to $61.5 million. Domestically, the rated-R comedy passed the $200 million mark this weekend.

Michael Mann's crime drama "Public Enemies" finished fourth with 5.3 million in five markets. Starring Johnny Depp, the film follows the adventures of American bank robber John Dillinger.

At No. 5, McG's "Terminator Salvation" brought in another $5 million, reaching an international total of $228.1 million.

Michael Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" topped the international box office this weekend with a stunning $162 million in ticket sales. The film's overseas total currently stands at $181.6 million.

Despite a superb launch on the international circuit, "Fallen" failed to break the $251.1 million opening week run of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." Domestically, the sequel to "Transformers" brought in $201.2 million after a five-day run.

At No. 2, "Terminator Salvation" picked up another $10.4 million, reaching a total haul of $220 million. Following in third place with $10.1 million was "The Hangover," which lifted its overseas cume to $46.2 million.

Meanwhile, Anne Fletcher's "The Proposal" took home $7.2 million for a cumulative gross of $22.7 million. Finishing fifth this weekend was "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," which reached $202.3 million after earnings of $5.2 million.

Michael Bay's anticipated sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" debuted in only two markets this weekend, but that was enough to score $20 million and the top spot at the international box office.

"Fallen" is currently playing at 846 locations in the U.K. and Japan, and it looks like the follow-up to "Transformers" will easily beat the debut of its predecessor. The film opens in the U.S. this Wednesday.

At No. 2, McG's "Terminator Salvation" took home $18.4 million, lifting its total gross to $200 million. Following in third place was Todd Phillips' comedy "The Hangover," which brought its overseas cume to $30.4 million.

Meanwhile, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" collected $10.4 million in fourth place, reaching a total haul of $192.5 million. "The Proposal" opened in fifth place with a weekend gross of $10 million.

Other results from the overseas box office: "Angels & Demons" picked up $8.4 million for a total of $329.2 million; "Up" brought in $6 million; "State of Play" pulled $3.4 million; and "Drag Me to Hell" collected $2 million.

At No. 2, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" picked up $17.9 million in 104 territories, bringing its overseas cume to $176.2 million. The sequel's domestic gross currently stands at $134.4 million.

Finishing third this weekend was Ron Howard's "Angels & Demons," which took home another $14.1 million for a total gross of $315 million.

Meanwhile, "The Hangover" grabbed the No. 4 spot with $11.6 million in 15 markets. Following in fifth place with a weekend gross of $8.2 million and a total haul of $26.6 million was Pixar's "Up," which is currently playing in 14 markets and will expand in the coming weeks.
