Franck Tabouring Actor Hugh Grant has officially left Susanne Bier’s upcoming romantic comedy “Lost for Words,” according to Variety.
Grant was supposed to play a British actor offered a role in a movie directed by a Chinese filmmaker (Ziyi Zhang). Although he’s first attracted to the director’s flirtatious translator, he soon realizes he has stronger feelings for the helmer instead.
The trade says Grant left the project because of creative differences. One of Grant’s spokespeople told Variety the actor was not entirely satisfied with Jamie Curtis and Dan Mazer’s script.
Working title is now moving ahead without Grant. Too bad!
Grant was last seen in 2007’s “Music and Lyrics.” Some of his hit comedies include “Love Actually,” “Notting Hill” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.”
Danish filmmaker Bier made her Hollywood debut with last year’s “Things We Lost in the Fire.”
