Gemma Arterton in 'Tamara Drewe' trailer

Gemma Arterton in Tamara Drewe

Here's the feature trailer for Stephen Frear's upcoming comedy "Tamara Drewe," which will hit theaters Oct. 8, 2010. The film is based on Posy Simmonds' graphic novel of the same title. Check it out below.

The plot follows Drewe, a sexy lady who heads back to her country village and provokes dark passions among the town's residents. Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam, Luke Evans and Bill Camp co-star.

I can't say this trailer totally convinced me, but I'm still somewhat intrigued. After all, Frears is a guy who knows what he's doing. This also looks to be a film with a decent performance by Arterton.

Hot! Gemma Arterton in 'Tamara Drewe' poster

Here is your first look at the poster for Stephen Frears' upcoming big-screen adaptation of Posy Simmonds' graphic novel "Tamara Drewe." The poster appeared online at Coming Soon. Check it out.

The poster is that special at all, but lead actress Gemma Arterton certainly is, even though this pose is the same exact one we've already seen in the film's first still. That said, she still looks ravishing, right?

First photo of Gemma Arterton in 'Tamara Drewe'

Gemma Arterton is starring in Stephen Frears' upcoming big-screen adaptation of Posy Simmonds' graphic novel "Tamara Drewe," and a first still from the flick as debuted on Facebook. Check it out above. The plot follows Drewe, a sexy lady who heads back to her country village and provokes dark passions among the town's residents.

And yes, Arterton looks stunning in the still, just as usual. Her performance in "Clash of the Titans" sucked, but I guess she has her looks going for her. Let's hope she will be better in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." Dominic Cooper, Roger Allam, Luke Evans, Bill Camp and Tamsin Greig co-star in "Tamara." Moira Buffini wrote the script.

Movie Review: “Chéri”

Seen on: June 19, 2009

The players: Director: Stephen Frears, Writer: Christopher Hampton, Cast: Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates, Rupert Friend, Bette Bourne, Felicity Jones

Facts of interest: Stephen Frears also directed "The Queen."

The plot: A famous courtesan's plans to reture are shattered when she launches into an affair with a much younger man.

Our thoughts: Director Stephen Frears reunites with his “Dangerous Liaisons” actress Michelle Pfeiffer in his latest drama “Chéri,” based on the popular 1920 novel by French author Colette. The result, though not as intriguing as some of Frears’ other recent works, is certainly watchable, with Pfeiffer and co-actor Rupert Friend delivering a pair of compelling performances.
