Trailer for 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'

Just a few days ago we got a first look at the posters for Guy Ritchie's upcoming sequel "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," and now, we've got the first trailer to share with you, so check it out after the jump. It actually looks pretty entertaining...

This sequel to the 2009 Robert Downey Jr. vehicle will find Holmes and his sidekick Watson, played by Jude Law, joining forces to bring down their most vicious adversary yet, Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris. Noomi Rapace co-stars as Sim.

"Sherlock Holmes 2" opens Dec. 16, 2011. Although I did not absolutely love the first film, I enjoyed it, and this trailer promises just as much action and dry humor as its predecessor. Strangely enough, it feels kind of good to see Downey Jr. and Law back in action.

Lots of casting news regarding Guy Ritchie's upcoming sequel "Sherlock Holmes 2," and the latest to join the gang is Jared Harris, who will play Holmes' villain Moriarty. No more wild guessing then, right?

Latino Review broke the news, saying this comes from solid sources. Stephen Fry recently joined the cast as Holmes' brother Mycroft, and Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will return for their roles in the sequel.

"Sherlock Holmes" heads into production later this year. As for Harris, his credits include "Mad Men" (Lane Pryce), "Extraordinary Measures," "The Ward," "Fringe" and "Resident Evil: Apocalypse."

'Sherlock Holmes' sequel already in development

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes

Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" won't open in theaters until Dec. 25, 2009, but Warner Bros. is already developing a sequel to the upcoming action adventure starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Launching sequels before the release of a film is the new thing in Hollywood, and I guess Warner strongly believes this one has franchise potential. Responses to footage shown at Comic-Con has been positive.
