Adam Scott to star in 'My Mother’s Curse'

Adam Scott (“Step Brothers,” “Leap Year”) has been making me laugh ever since I stumbled across him on the severely underrated show “Party Down,” which, like every good show on television, got canceled after only a few seasons.

That’s why I’m delighted to report he’s been cast alongside Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand in the upcoming comedy, “My Mother’s Curse.” The film is directed by Anne Fletcher, whose credits include "The Proposal," "27 Dresses" and "Step Up."

"Curse" will focus on a young inventor who jumps in a car with his mother to make a cross-country trip, all the while attempting to push his products and reunite her with a previous lover. The Hollywood Reporter states that Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn and Evan Goldberg will produce.

Trailer for '50/50' cancer comedy debuts

Jonathan Levine's new comedy "50/50" looks pretty intriguing, as you can see for yourself in the trailer after the jump. The film, about a young man who learns he has cancer, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anjelica Huston.

Will Reiser, who battled cancer himself, penned the script, and early reviews from people who have seen the film indicate it's quite an honest and touching little film. I'm looking forward to it very much myself. Like I said, check out the trailer below. Doesn't this look quite promising?

Watch the brand-new 'The Green Hornet' trailer

Columbia has released a new trailer for Michel Gondry's upcoming action adventure "The Green Hornet," and it's available for you to watch above. That said, it's not that much different from the previous version.

It features some new action footage though. I'm still not entirely convinced, but Gondry is a talented filmmaker and the cast isn't exactly boring either. If anything, the action moments sure look pretty cool.

The action film follows the adventures of Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), who inherits his dad's newspaper and fights crime as a masked hero at night. Jay Chou plays his sidekick Kato. Cameron Diaz co-stars.

Release is set for Jan. 14, 2011, and the film will also open in 3D. The good news: Christoph Waltz plays the villain. He may not be able to save the film, but his appearance is definitely a bunch of good news.

Watch the first teaser for 'Kung Fu Panda 2'

Yes, "Kung Fu Panda 2" is happening, and it's coming closer fast. The release for the Jennifer Yuh-helmed sequel is set for May 26, 2011, and the folks at Yahoo! today unveiled the first teaser trailer.

Watch it below. Not much going on here, except for a staring contest. Jack Black returns to voice Po, and the voice cast also includes Gary Oldman, Seth Rogen, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan and David Cross.

I was not impressed with the first "Kung Fu Panda," but hey, I'm willing to give this one a shot anyway. It's opening in 3D, so get your glasses on. In the sequel, Po heads out to discover his mysterious origins.

Here's 'The Green Hornet' trailer

Michel Gondry's "The Green Hornet" won't open until January 2011, but the first full trailer is already online, and you can check it out right after the jump. At this point, I'm not sure what to think of it...

I'm definitely interested to find out what Gondry has done with this thing. He's someone who's got talent and definitely has what it take to go crazy in terms of direction and style, and I hope it works out.

At the same time, this trailer didn't knock me off my chair either. Sure, it looks cool and seems to boast a bunch of action and light humor, but I'm not really sure Seth Rogen is the right guy for this.

Here's why Nicolas Cage left 'The Green Hornet'

Nicolas Cage

Earlier this month, we found out Nicolas Cage dropped out of Michel Gondry's upcoming action adventure "The Green Hornet," but back then, it was not really clear why so. The only thing we knew was that Cage failed to reach a proper deal with Columbia. There was more to it though, and Cage now revealed what happened.
