'I Don't Know How She Does It' trailer hits

Sarah Jessica Parker returns to the big screen in Douglas McGrath's upcoming comedy "I Don't Know How She Does It," and a first trailer for the flick has landed. The flick follows Kate Reddy, a finance executive who is the breadwinner for her husband and two kids.

Does it look fascinatingly original and hilarious? Not at all, but that's just me. Sure, this all sounds like a neat little story, but to tell you the truth, this trailer started to bore the heck out of me after the first minute. Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear co-star.

"I Don't Know How She Does It" starts Sept. 16, 2011. Do you know how she does it?

New 'Sex and the City 2' trailer stinks

Sex and the City 2

The brand-new feature trailer for "Sex and the City 2" gives away the entire plot of the upcoming Michael Patrick King-directed sequel, and that's exactly why it stinks. No, I am not a "SATC" expert and I'm certainly not a big fan, but I've seen enough episodes to understand what's going on in this preview. Needless to say, it looks ridiculous, utterly predictable and, well... quite repetitive as well. Check it out below.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are back in action, and this time, the girls hit the desert. Carrie seems to be bored with Big (Chris Noth) already, Samantha still sleeps around a lot, and the rest of the girls are messing with parental responsibilities. Nothing new here, I know. It all looks and feels lame, and it all opens in theaters May 27, 2010. Who's liking this? Anyone?

Trailer for 'Sex and the City 2' hits...

Sex and the City is back

"Sex and the City 2" will be coming to a theater near you May 28, 2010, and the first trailer for the Michael Patrick King-directed sequel is now officially online. Check out the glamour and all that below.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is back in the sequel to the first feature film, and so are her girls Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Chris Noth will also be back for the role of Mr. Big.

The story? Um... Let's put it this way: the girls will hit the desert. The preview below doesn't show us much, but it does tell us that the girls will go on some sort of vacation together. Sounds rather lame...

Movie Review: “Did You Hear About the Morgans?”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: December 14, 2009

The players: Director: Marc Lawrence, Writer: Marc Lawrence, Cast: Hugh Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sam Elliott, Mary Steenburgen

Facts of interest: Lawrence also directed "Music and Lyrics."

The plot: A New York couple is forced to enter a witness protection program and relocate to Wyoming after witnessing a cold-blooded murder.

Our thoughts: Marc Lawrence’s new romantic comedy “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” is the epitome of ultra-boring, completely unnecessary cinema. It’s a movie in which nothing really works and the actors don’t seem to have a clue about what they’re doing. Alas, it turns out this one may just as well be among the most disappointing films of 2009.

'Did You Hear About the Morgans?' trailer hits

Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker in Did You Hear About the Morgans?

It's been a while since we last saw Hugh Grant on the big screen, but he'll soon return in Mark Lawrence's comedy "Did You Hear About the Morgans?," which is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 11, 2009. Grant also worked with the director on "Music and Lyrics" and "Two Weeks Notice."

A trailer for the "Morgans" has popped up online, and you can check it out after the jump. My first reaction is rather negative, because to be honest, this doesn't look funny to me at all. Okay, I admit I laughed once (pay attention to the Sarah Palin joke in the preview). But see for yourself and share you opinion below.

"Morgans" focuses on a troubled New York couple forced to enter a witness protection program in Wyoming after they witness a murder. It's in the middle of nowhere that they finally seem to understand who they really are and stuff. Oh, and Hugh Grant gets to run from a bear as well. By the way, his wife is portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker.

Victoria Beckham to star in 'Sex and the City 2'?

Will Victoria Beckham join Sarah Jessica Parker and her gang in the upcoming sequel "Sex and the City 2"? According to the Daily Mail, she could, yes.

Apparently, Beckham is currently taking acting lessons for a possible cameo in the film, which Michael Patrick King is currently developing.

I didn't know this, but Posh turned down a quick role in the first flick because she was too busy working on her Spice Girls tour. Rumor has it she will now show up in the follow-up, which is set for release May 28, 2010.

A source tells the Mail: "She really wanted to be in the last movie but wasn’t able to take part because of her commitments with the Spice Girls. This time she’s keen to take part."

Beckham's acting credits include playing herself in the 1997 "Spice World." Yes, that terrible movie that had Rober Moore in it.

'Sex and the City 2' gets 2010 release date

That last year's big-screen version of "Sex and the City" would receive a sequel is not news, but what is new is that New Line Cinema has officially set a release date for "Sex and the City 2."

According to Variety, New Line will release the follow-up May 28, 2010. The first film opened around the same slot, May 30, 2008. Michael Patrick King will return to write and direct the project.

Also back in action are lead actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Considering everything she's been through already, I really wonder what adventure they'll have Carrie embark on next...

"Sex and the City" proved to be a box office success last summer. The film grossed $152.6 million domestically and pulled in $412 million worldwide. How about that...

Hugh Grant's next comedy has a title!

Last October I reported about an upcoming untitled comedy starring Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker, and now the project has an official title.

According to Empire Online, the film will be called "Did You Hear About The Morgans?"

Directed by Marc Lawrence, the plot focuses on a troubled New York couple forced to enter a witness protection program in Wyoming after they witness a murder.

In related news, Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men") has joined the cast. She will be playing Parker's executive assistant.

For Grant, this project already marks his third collaboration with Lawrence, following “Two Weeks Notice” and “Music and Lyrics.” Grant was last seen in "Lyrics."

Parker recently starred in "Sex and the City." Besides a sequel, she's also got "The Ivy Chronicles" in development.

Grant, Parker to team up for romantic comedy

Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker are in talks to team up for an untitled romantic comedy directed by Marc Lawrence.

According to Variety, the film focuses on a troubled New York couple who enter a witness protection program in Wyoming after witnessing a murder.

For Grant, this project would mark his third collaboration with Lawrence, following “Two Weeks Notice” and “Music and Lyrics.”

The trade also says the film was originally set up at Castle Rock with Andrew Fleming attached to helm. It later found a new home at Columbia Pictures.

Grant, who last starred in “Music and Lyrics,” recently dropped out of Susanne Bier’s upcoming comedy “Lost for Words.”

As for Parker, she was last seen in “Sex and the City.” She recently joined the cast for “The Ivy Chronicles,” a comedy based on the novel by Karen Quinn.

Final word: Grant and Parker together as an onscreen couple? Don’t know about that one…

Short takes: Cage teams up with Carpenter

The Hollywood Reporter says Nicholas Cage and John Carpenter may join forces to develop “Scared Straight,” a thriller about a convict forced to help free a hostage held inside a prison. Ron Brinkerhoff rewrote the original script by Joe Gazzam.

• Aline Brosh McKenna, screenwriter of “The Devil Wears Prada,” has been hired to write the script for “The Ivy Chronicles,” which will star Sarah Jessica Parker as an upper-middle class mother who is forced to move into a cheap downtown apartment after losing her job and getting divorced. (The Hollywood Reporter)

• According to Variety, Robert De Niro is in talks to star alongside Mel Gibson in Martin Campbell’s crime drama “Edge of Darkness.” Gibson plays a homicide detective who discovers his daughter’s secret life after she’s murdered on the steps of his house. De Niro would star as an operative sent to clean up any kind of evidence.

Variety also reports Rob Cohen’s “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” opened with $15.3 million Friday, beating Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” which took in $12.6 million. “The Mummy Returns” collected $23.4 million on its opening day in 2001.
