'Red' cast gets even more awesome!

Red cast updates

Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox are in talks to join Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly and Mary Louise Parker in Summit's upcoming flick "Red."

Isn't that an awesome cast? Anyway, "Red' is based on the comic miniseries and follows a former black ops agent (Willis) who has to battle a bunch of young assassins who hunt him down to kill him.

Heat Vision reports McMahon would star as a VP with a dark agenda. Borgnine plays the guy who protects the CIA's darkest records. Dreyfuss plays a wealthy man, and Cox portrays one of Willis' enemies.

Movie Review: “The Time Traveler’s Wife”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: August 14, 2009

The players: Director: Robert Schwentke, Writer: Bruce Joel Rubin, Cast: Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, Ron Livingston, Jane McLean, Arliss Howard

Facts of interest: Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

The plot: The film chronicles the love story between a young woman and a man who involuntarily travels through time.

Our thoughts: Even though I really tried to make it last a bit, my interest in Robert Schwentke’s big-screen romance “The Time Traveler’s Wife” almost disappeared as quickly as Eric Bana does in the film. I know it can be tough to take a movie like this one seriously in the first place, but I definitely tried. Alas, what I got in return almost wasn’t worth my time at all…

'The Time Traveler's Wife' trailer appears

Here's the trailer for Robert Schwentke's upcoming romantic drama "The Time Traveler's Wife," based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

Eric Bana stars as Henry, a time traveler cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control.

Despite the fact that Henry's travels force him and his love Clare (Rachel McAdams) apart with no warning, she desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

I haven't read the book and don't know what to expect, but the trailer does look interesting. I'm all for tearjerkers as long as they carry solid characters and a strong plot. Enjoy the preview below.

Robert Schwentke to direct 'Venus Fixer'

German filmmaker Robert Schwentke is in talks to direct New Line Cinema and Mandalay's upcoming thriller "Venus Fixer," which is based on a true story.

Variety says the film follows a Holocaust survivor who assists the American military to locate a ruthless killer on the loose in postwar Berlin.

The trade says J.C. Pollack, who writes novels under pseudonym James Elliott, wrote the script. Some of Pollack's work includes "End Game" and "Nowhere to Hide."

Schwentke most recently directed the Jodie Foster vehicle "Flightplan." He's currently wrapping up post-production for "The Time Traveler's Wife" with Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

For our German readers: He's also the guy behind "Eierdiebe" and "Tattoo."
