First trailer for 'The Vow' arrives

Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in The Vow

This one won't hit theaters until next Valentine's Day, but a first trailer for Michael Sucsy's "The Vow" is already online. The drama stars Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, and judging by this footage, it will try to steal your heart. But will it succeed?

The story of "The Vow" follows a couple getting into a serious car accident. When the wife (McAdams) awakes from a coma, she doesn't remember her husband (Tatum), which prompts him to try and win her heart all over again. Yeah, that's a tough one for sure...

Scott Speedman

Scott Speedman is the latest to join Spyglass Entertainment's upcoming romantic drama "The Vow," which Michael Sucsy ("Grey Gardensa") will direct. Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams co-star.

The movie follows a couple getting into a serious car accident. When the wife awakes from a coma, she doesn't remember her husband, which prompts him to try and win her heart all over again.

Tatum and McAdams play the couple. THR says Speedman will play the woman's ex-fiance. Speedman starred in "The Strangers" and "Underworld: Evolution." He's got "Barney's Version" coming soon.

Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams take 'Vow'

The beautiful Rachel McAdams

After loving on Amanda Seyfried in "Dear John," Channing Tatum is now trying to win the heart of Rachel McAdams in Michael Sucsy's upcoming romantic drama "The Vow" for Spyglass Entertainment.

THR says the story follows a couple getting into a serious car accident. When the wife awakes from a coma, she doesn't remember her husband, which prompts him to try and win her heart all over again.

Michael Sucsy also directed HBO's "Grey Gardens." McAdams will next star in "Morning Glory," followed by "Midnight in Paris." Tatum will soon be seen in "The Eagle of the Ninth" and "The Son of No One."

Adrien Brody cast in Woody Allen film

Adrien Brody, who will next be seen in the horror thriller "Splice," has joined the cast of Woody Allen's upcoming film "Midnight in Paris." Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates and Michael Sheen are already on board. The film jumps into production this summer.

Specific details are unkown, but The Hollywood Reporter says the story follows a family traveling to Paris. More specifically, the party "includes a young engaged couple forced to confront the illusion that a life different from their own is better." Yes, that sounds quite interesting to me at this point.

Brody, an Oscar winner, will also soon be seen in "Predators." As for Woody, he's got "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" hitting theaters soon. As far as I'm concerned, I still have to check out his last film "Whatever Works" to catch up.

Rachel McAdams will star in Woody Allen film

Rachel McAdams will be starring in Woody Allen's next movie, which will shoot in the summer. The Hollywood Reporter says plot details are kept under wraps. Owen Wilson and Marion Cotillard co-star, and it seems the story will be set in France.

To tell you the truth, I am exicted to see both McAdams and Cotillard in an Allen flick. McAdams was last seen in "Sherlock Holmes," and she's got "Morning Glory" coming soon. She'll also star in Terrence Malick's new film, which shoots this year as well.

Movie Review: “Sherlock Holmes”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: December 21, 2009

The players: Director: Guy Ritchie, Writers: Michael Robert Johnson, Simon Kinberg, Anthony Peckham, Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Eddie Marsan

Facts of interest: Ritchie's first PG-13 film.

The plot: Sherlock Holmes heads out to hunt down and arrest Blackwood, who plans to murder all of London's politicians.

Our thoughts: Although far from a cinematic masterpiece, Guy Ritchie’s reimagining of “Sherlock Holmes” boasts a lot of big-screen fun. It’s a relatively fast-paced crime adventure stuffed with decent humor, and while the amusing story certainly helps boost the film’s entertainment value, the real reason this thing works so well is Robert Downey Jr.

Cool new 'Sherlock Holmes' trailer delivers!

Sherlock Holmes Trailer delivers the goods

The more I see of Guy Ritchie's upcoming "Sherlock Holmes" adventure, the more I'm excited to see this film. A brand-new trailer just exploded onto the Web, and you can watch it after the jump.

As you can see below, this new trailer features a whole bunch of new footage, most of which looks really cool. It's a visually interesting and action-packed preview that works for me on several levels.

The focus of this preview is obviously the particular relationship between Holmes and Watson, and it looks like Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law really have what it takes to pull this off.

'Sherlock Holmes' sequel already in development

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes

Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" won't open in theaters until Dec. 25, 2009, but Warner Bros. is already developing a sequel to the upcoming action adventure starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Launching sequels before the release of a film is the new thing in Hollywood, and I guess Warner strongly believes this one has franchise potential. Responses to footage shown at Comic-Con has been positive.

Movie Review: “The Time Traveler’s Wife”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: August 14, 2009

The players: Director: Robert Schwentke, Writer: Bruce Joel Rubin, Cast: Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, Ron Livingston, Jane McLean, Arliss Howard

Facts of interest: Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

The plot: The film chronicles the love story between a young woman and a man who involuntarily travels through time.

Our thoughts: Even though I really tried to make it last a bit, my interest in Robert Schwentke’s big-screen romance “The Time Traveler’s Wife” almost disappeared as quickly as Eric Bana does in the film. I know it can be tough to take a movie like this one seriously in the first place, but I definitely tried. Alas, what I got in return almost wasn’t worth my time at all…
