'Monsters, Inc.' sequel coming for sure?

There's been some talk recently about the possibility of a sequel to Pixar's excellent animated feature "Monsters, Inc.," and according to the folks at Latino Review, the sequel will most likely happen. Nothing is confirmed yet, but a source said "Monsters, Inc. 2" is in development.

It wouldn't surprise me if this turned out to be true. Pixar is already playing the sequel game with "Cars 2." It also released "Toy Story 2," and "Toy Story 3" is on the way. Let's hope this is not because of a lack of new ideas from the utterly creative studio. The "Monsters" sequel could be ready for release in 2012 or 2013.

Brand-new 'Toy Story 3' trailer hits the web

A brand-new trailer for Lee Unkrich's upcoming "Toy Story 3" has hit the Web, and you can check it out after the jump. Do it, because you're definitely in for a horde of new footage from the upcoming 3D film.

This time, Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. But... no toy gets left behind! Michael Arndt wrote the script.

Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Estelle Harris, John Morris, Michael Keaton and Timothy Dalton are part of the film's large voice cast, and the film opens June 18.

This new trailer lets us in on where exactly the story is heading, and right now, I like the idea of the toys being dumped into this unfamiliar world, trying to find a way out of there to return to the home they cherish.

New 'Toy Story 3' trailer and posters hit

There's a new trailer for Pixar's upcoming sequel "Toy Story 3" on the Web, and you can check it out after the jump. This one looks great, and it's good to have Woody, Buzz and co. back in action onscreen.

I'm usually not a fan of animated sequels, but in the case of "Toy Story," I am more than willing to make an exception. I'm really looking forward to this third adventure, and this trailer sure won me over.

Chris Wedge to direct 'Leaf Men' adaptation

Oscar-winning filmmaker Chris Wedge, the man behind "Ice Age," is set to direct Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios' upcoming adventure "Leaf Men," based on William Joyce's illustrated children's book.

Variety reports Fox first wanted to give away the picture but decided to keep it after Wedge started talking to the good folks at Pixar. Yeah, I guess that's reason enough for Fox to be scared.

Here's what Pixar's 'Cars 2' will be about

As you may have heard already, Pixar is developing "Cars 2," and the last thing I heard about the film was that Walt Disney moved up the release date for the Brad Lewis-helmed animated film from 2012 to 2011. Today I have more details about the sequel.

During a presentation in London, Pixar man John Lasseter had quite a few things to say about the plot of "Cars 2," and Empire has all the details. After the jump, find out what to expect from Lightning McQueen and his fellow cars...
