Penn Badgley to star in Jeff Buckley biopic

With hits like “Ray” and “Walk the Line,” it was just a matter of time before someone looked to make some cash off of the tragic life of the incredible Jeff Buckley, the crooning singer that made the song “Hallelujah” more famous than Leonard Cohen ever could.

According to Movieline, Penn Badgley (“Easy A,” “Gossip Girl”) will attempt to hit the high notes in Smuggler Films' “Greetings from Tim Buckley.” Apparently, the project is going to focus on the relationship, or lack there of, between Jeff and his father Tim.

Through a romance with a young women, Buckley will somehow come to understand his father. It will follow him in the days leading up to his iconic performance at St. Ann's Church, and it will culminate in his debut performance that ushered him into unwanted stardom.

I love Jeff Buckley, but I got to say, this just sounds sort of weird. Thoughts?

Movie Review: “The Stepfather”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: October 17, 2009

The players: Director: Nelson McCormick, Writer: J.S. Cardone, Cast: Dylan Walsh, Sela Ward, Penn Badgley, Amber Heard, Sherry Stringfield

Facts of interest: Another remake...

The plot: A crazy dude pretends to be the sweet stepfather but ends up going nuts and killing entire families.

Our thoughts: To tell you the truth, I could have done a way better movie with every single dollar they wasted on Nelson McCormick’s disastrous remake “The Stepfather,” a film so ridiculously predictable and boring, it really made me want to get up and tear the screen apart. Yeah, it is really THAT bad!
