Boring new 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' clip

Here is a brand-new clip from Michael Bay's upcoming sequel "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," but as you can see after the jump, it looks like they're going to save all the action for the movie. This clip is pretty uneventful, unless you have a thing for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Patrick Dempsey, of course.

Anyway, Dempsey plays a dude named Dylan, and in this footage, he proves he's quite the show-off. Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky, and Huntington-Whiteley pretty much replaces Megan Fox. Also part of the cast are Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand.

Patrick Dempsey boards 'Transformers 3'

"Grey's Anatomy," star Patrick Dempsey has announced he will star in Michael Bay's upcoming sequel "Transformers 3," which Paramount will unleash in theaters July 1, 2011. The film is getting ready to shoot this summer, and of course, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will return as the lead characters.

Variety says Dempsey will play a darker character in the new "Transformers." Dempsey's recent big-screen credits include "Valentine's Day" and "Made of Honor." "T3" will shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China, and Frances McDormand and John Malkovich also star.

Patrick Dempsey likes 'Racing in the Rain'

Patrick Dempsey is in early talks to star in Universal Pictures' big screen adaptation of Garth Stein's best-selling book "The Art of Racing in the Rain."

The story follows a family dog that's got a near-human soul and reflects on its life via the lessons it learns from its owner, a race-car driver named Denny Swift (Dempsey).

Variety says Dempsey is an avid racer (I wasn't aware of that), so I guess he's a good fit for the role. No writer or director seems to be attached to the project yet, but Neal H. Moritz is set to produce.

As for Dempsey, the "Grey's Anatomy" star recently apapred in "Made of Honor." He's also signed on to join the ensemble cast of "Valentine's Day."

• Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane from "Grey's Anatomy" are boarding Garry Marshall's upcoming comedy "Valentine's Day," which follows 10 Los Angeles people whose lives intersect on Valentine's Day. Topher Grace, Emma Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher co-star. • Brett Cullen, whose credits include "The Burning Plain," "Ghost Rider" and "National Security," has joined the cast of Floria Sigismondi's upcoming music biopic "The Runaways," about the formation of The Runaways all the way to the end of their career as a group.
