The plot: Follows the stories of Julia Child, an American chef writing a cookbook in Europe; and Julie Powell, who tries to cook herself through Child's book.

Our thoughts: Nora Ephron’s “Julie & Julia” is a delightful little comedy that will feed your soul and warm your heart. Boasting a couple of terrific performances and based on two true stories, the film follows two individuals whose passions for food help them create the perfect recipe for happiness.

'Julie & Julia' trailer looks tasty

Nora Ephron, whose credits include "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail," will soon return to the big screen with "Julie & Julia," in which Meryl Streep is Julia Child and Amy Adams is Julie Powell. The film, which will open Aug. 7, 2009, is an adaptation of two bestselling memoirs: Powell's "Julie & Julia" and "My Life in France" by Julia Child.

Based on two true stories, "Julie & Julia" intertwines the lives of two women who, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends... until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible. The trailer for the film popped up recently, and you can check it out after the jump. Looks kind of delicious, even though I really hate Adams' haircut.
