'The Hangover' wins Friday box office again

The Hangover wins Friday box office.

Todd Phillips' comedy "The Hangover" topped the North American box office Friday for the second consecutive week with an estimated $10.4 million in ticket sales.

Playing at 3,355 locations, the R-rated film lifted its domestic total to $82.4 million after just one week in release. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helm and Zach Galifianakis star as three guys who lose their best friend on a night out in Vegas.

At No. 2, Pixar's "Up" collected another $8.8 million, bringing its total haul to $165.5 million. New entry "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" debuted with $8.2 million in third place, playing currently at 3,074 locations.

Things didn't go so well for Eddie Murphy's new comedy "Imagine That," which finished sixth with a daily gross of $1.8 million from 3,008 locations. In the film, Murphy plays a financial executive who finds the key to success in his daughter's imaginary world.

Meanwhile, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" picked up $2.9 million at No. 4, lifting its cumulative gross to $136.8 million. At No. 5, "Land of the Lost" pulled in $2.9 million also, reaching a total gross of $28.7 million.

This week, we're looking at three wide releases: McG's "Terminator Salvation" with Christian Bale; Shawn Levy's sequel "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" with Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson and Robin Williams; and Damien Wayans' comedy "Dance Flick" with Damon Wayans Jr. and Shoshana Bush:

What to expect at the movies in May '09

Who knows, maybe the swine flu will soon cause the U.S. to shut down a bunch of theaters and the studios to delay releases, but for now, the movie schedule for May remains unchanged. Here's a quick look at what to expect at the movies this coming month.

Of course, May kicks off with the anticipated release of Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which I admit I'm looking forward to quite a lot. I always enjoyed watching Hugh Jackman kick ass in this role, and the latest trailers and spots for "Wolverine" really deliver the goods.

Also opening this weekend is Mark Waters' latest comedy "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," which I hope will combine first-class entertainment with edgy humor. I'm not so sure that will happen, but I've really enjoyed Waters' work so far. Then there's "Battle for Terra," a 3D animated adventure that doesn't look bad but fell victim to a weak marketing campaign. Thinking about it, this could as well be the new "Delgo."

New TV spots for 'Star Trek,' 'Angels & Demons'

It's a good day to check out some new TV spots. The first one after the jump is the latest for J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Trek" reboot, which opens next week. It doesn't really feature any new footage, but it's definitely as explosive as its predecessors. Down below you can also check out the latest "Angels & Demons" spot, which I admit looks pretty solid (I only hope the film will be a whole lot better than the "Da Vinci" mess).

Posters for 'Night at the Museum 2,' 'Watchmen'

Today I stumbled across a couple of new movie posters.

The first one is the official poster for Shawn Levy's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," which stars Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill and Steve Coogan. Release date is set for May 22, 2009.

If you scroll further down you'll also find two new one-sheets for Richard Curtis' "The Boat That Rocked," which focuses on a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz.

Finally, I have two new awesome posters for Zack Snyder's "Watchmen." The beast opens March 6. The one-sheets first popped up at MTV and Trailer Addict. Now, which one do you like best?

First trailer for 'Night at the Museum 2' arrives!

Ben Stiller is back as Larry Daley in Shawn Levy's sequel "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian," which opens in theaters May 22, 2009.

As the title already gives away, the action this time goes down at the Smithsonian Institution, where everything comes to life to give Larry a hard time.

Down below you can check out the first trailer for the film, during which Stiller encounters some old friends, makes new aquaintances, and even launches into a fight with Jonah Hill.

And yes, Amy Adams is in it as well. Also starring are Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Bill Hader, Dick Van Dyke, Eugene Levy and Ricky Gervais.

Because the element of surprise is now basically gone, I don't know what to expect from this sequel. I just hope they keep the pace operating at a higher level than that of the predecessor. We shall see soon enough.

Footage from the set of 'Night at the Museum 2'

Hey there Ben Stiller fans, are you excited for "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian"? If so, here's a little treat for ya.

Access Hollywood recently visited the set of Shawn Levy's sequel to the 2006 box office hit, which took home $250.8 million domestically.

In the footage after the jump, you'll see Ben Stiller star in a scene with Amy Adams, who's on board as famous pilot Amelia Earhart. I hear they have quite the chemistry going on.

Shawn Levy returns to direct. "Night at the Museum 2" is scheduled to open May 22, 2009. While I didn't really hate the first film, I can't say it blew me away either. Do we really need a sequel to this?
