New 'Thor' trailer looks pretty epic

New Thor trailer is here and it is awesome

The brand-new trailer for Kenneth Branagh's upcoming action adventure "Thor" has debuted online, and I highly suggest you check it out after the jump. It's quite the beauty, boasting some sick action-packed moments rich in special effects and mayhem. And yes, you'll giggle once or twice as well.

"Thor" opens in 3D May 6, 2011, and the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings and Ray Stevenson. This new trailer promises a fun ride, that's for sure. For more "Thor" info, head over to the official page at http://thor.marvel.com/.

Natalie Portman in Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity'?

Natalie Portman

I hear Natalie Portman's performance in "Black Swan" is really powerful, and I guess that's the reason she's being courted by Warner Bros. right now. The studio wants her to play the lead in "Gravity."

Risky Business reports Alfonso Cuarón, who will direct "Gravity," has received permission to offer Portman the lead role without screen tests. She's supposed to check out the script and decide shortly.

"Gravity" is a 3D adventure focusing on a woman stuck on a space station. Robert Downey Jr. will play a supporting character. Angelina Jolie was on board for the lead, but she recently dropped out.

Awesome trailer for 'Black Swan' arrives!

Wow! Here is the first trailer for Darren Aronofsky's upcoming thriller "Black Swan," and it looks pretty darn intriguing in my book. Watch it after the jump and I will guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Natalie Portman plays an experienced ballerina who's having a hard time dealing with a rival dancer (Mila Kunis). As the story develops, Portman's character is not sure whether what she experiences is real.

Sounds weird, and as this preview shows, it looks weird. Still, "Black Swan" seems to be a beautifully photographed film filled with great performances and a mysterious plot, and that's how I like it.

Check out Chris Hemsworth as 'Thor'

Kenneth Branagh's action adventure "Thor" will arrive in theaters May 6, 2011, and the folks at Yahoo!Movies have scored the very first and official look at lead actor Chris Hemsworth in the role of Dr. Donald Blake aka. Thor. Check him out in the still above. No, the hammer is nowhere to be seen.

Hemsworth is Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. He is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Natalie Portman seeks love among zombies

Natalie Portman in Zombie Pride and Prejudice

Natalie Portman will produce and star in Lionsgate's big-screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's book “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” which adds the undead to the classic Jane Austen love story.

The book follows Elizabeth Bennet, who's looking for love in a world taken over by zombies. At first, she sets out to eliminate the undead, but her mission is interrupted by the arrival of Mr. Darcy.

I have read "Pride and Prejudice" but never got around to reading this zombie version, but I sure am already looking forward to seeing Portman go nuts as a badass Elizabeth Bennet. This may just work.

Review: "Brothers"

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: December 1, 2009

The players: Director: Jim Sheridan, Writer: David Benioff, Cast: Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Sam Shepard

Facts of interest: Remake of Susanne Bier's "Brodre."

The plot: Brothers Sam and Tommy have a decent relationship until Tommy comforts Sam's wife after he goes missing in Afghanistan and is presumed dead for weeks.

Our thoughts: Jim Sheridan’s “Brothers” doesn’t feel as intense as Susanne Bier’s original film of the same title, but a handful of surprisingly solid acting performances give this remake a dramatic touch that’s hard to ignore. I wouldn’t count it among my favorite films of the year, but as a drama about a family struggling with loss and loneliness, “Brothers” works.

Justin Theroux to play baddie in 'Your Highness'

Justin Theroux

Justin Theroux is the latest to join David Gordon Green's upcoming comedy “Your Highness," which also stars James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel. The film is already shooting, and I just posted an entry about a set photo potentially showing Portman earlier today.

But back to this story. The Hollywood Reporter says Theroux is on board to play a villain. Written by McBride and Ben Best, the film follows an arrogant prince (McBride) and his brother (Franco), who must show great courage and fulfill a perilous quest to secure the future of his dad’s kingdom.
