William Monahan to direct 'Art of the Heist'
William Monahan is set to direct the big-screen adaptation of Myles Connor's upcoming memoir "The Art of the Heist: Confessions of a Master Thief, Rock-and-Roller and Prodigal Son."
Variety reports Monahan and producer Quentin Curtis are currently trying to acquire the rights to the book, which will be published in April.
The story follows Myles Connor, a musician and art thief who pulled of a bunch of museum robberies in Boston in the '70s and '80s.
The trade says it's unknown at this stage whether Monahan will also write the script. His credits include "Kingdom of Heaven," "The Departed" and "Body of Lies."
Monahan also recently decided to make his directorial debut with "London Boulevard," an adaptation of Ken Bruen's novel that will star Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell.
