'The Runaways' gets new feature trailer

Here's the feature trailer for Floria Sigismondi's "The Runaways," the upcoming rock biopic that follows the story of Joan Jett and her popular band. The film, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, hits theaters wide April 9, 2010. Preview follows after the jump.

The plot focuses on the formation of The Runaways all the way to the end of their career as a group. The band came together in 1975, producing famous songs such as "Cherry Bomb" and "Queens of Noise." Stewart is on board to play Joan Jett, and Fanning plays singer Cheri Currie.

I've been hearing some positive things about this one, and to tell you the truth, I'm excited to see Dakota Fanning handling the role of a badass rock chick. Also, I can't wait to find out whether Stewart can make up for her sleepy performances in "Twilight."

Trailer for Kristen Stewart's 'The Runaways'

Photo from The Runaways

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning will soon rock the stage in Floria Sigismondi's "The Runaways," which is scheduled to hit theaters in North America March 19, 2010. A first trailer for the music/drama is up!

The plot focuses on the formation of The Runaways all the way to the end of their career as a group. The band came together in 1975, producing famous songs such as "Cherry Bomb" and "Queens of Noise."

Stewart is on board to play Joan Jett, who later formed the Blackhearts and returned back to fame with "I Love Rock N' Roll." Fanning plays singer Cheri Currie, while Scout Taylor-Compton plays Lita Ford.

As you can see below, this is a rather short and fast-paced teaser promising a lot of rock music. Stewart looks scary, really, but what I'm really looking forward to in this movie is Fanning's performance.
