Interview: Mike Judge on 'Extract'

Mike Judge

Just recently, I had the chance to participate in a brief round-table interview with writer/director Mike Judge, creator of "Office Space," "Beavis and Butt-Head" and "King of the Hill." He was in town to promote his latest comedy "Extract," and here's the most important stuff we talked about.

Describing "Extract," which opened nationwide last week and stars Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis and Ben Affleck, Judge said, "It’s like 'Office Space' but this time it’s sympathetic to the boss, the guy who owns the place."

Two funny clips from Mike Judge's 'Extract'

Jason Bateman in Mike Judge's Extract

In case you missed them, here are two funny clips from Mike Judge's new comeody "Extract." I'm not really allowed to share my full review you quite yet, but what I can say is that this one's really hilarious. Judge fans should be able to easily appreciate the humor in "Extract," and I can only recommend you check it out when it opens Sept. 4, 2009.

Starring Jason Bateman in the lead role, the film follows an extract factory owner who's having a whole lot of trouble at work and at home. Mila Kunis, David Koechner, Dustin Milligan, Kristen Wiig, Clifton Collins Jr., Matt Schulze, J.K. Simmons and Ben Affleck co-star. It's a great cast, and you'll love the characters they're portraying.

In the film, Jason Bateman stars as a flower extract factory owner (Bateman) who's having trouble at work and at home. Also starring are Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig, J.K. Simmons, Ben Affleck and Clifton Collins Jr. It's a great cast, and I really enjoyed this first footage from the film.

Ben Affleck to board 'Extract'

Ben Affleck is in final talks to join Jason Bateman, Clifton Collins Jr., Mila Kunis and Kristen Wiig in Mike Judge's upcoming comedy "Extract," Variety reported earlier today.

The film follows the misadventures of a flower extract factory owner (Bateman) who's having trouble at work and at home. Affleck takes over the role of a lawyer, while Collins plays a factory worker who loses a body part in an accident.

Judge wrote the screenplay himself and will start shooting the project next week. Miramax is developing.

Affleck most recently directed "Gone Baby Gone." He will next be seen in Ken Kwapis comedy "He's Just Not That Into You," which opens everywhere Feb. 6, 2009.

Judge's directing credits include "Office Space" and "Idiocracy."
