Brand-new 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader' trailer

The latest trailer for Michael Apted's upcoming 3D sequel "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" has arrived, and you can watch it above. "Treader" opens everywhere Dec. 10. 2010.

I admit I am not a big fan of the previous two films, so I'm not entirely stoked about No. 3 either. Some shots in this trailer do look great, but other visuals just look a tad too computer-generated, don't you think?

The cast, by the way, includes Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley and Gary Sweet.

'Voyage of the Dawn Treader' trailer arrives

Dawn Treader

Let me tell you right off the bat: I am not a "Narnia" fan. I failed to enjoy the first films, and I admit I'm not very enthusiastic when it comes to looking forward to the next one, which opens Dec. 10, 2010.

A trailer for Michael Apted's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is now online, and if you have not seen it yet, go ahead and check it out after the jump. Any good? You be the judge.

Personally, I'm not intrigued by this preview at all, but as you know, I am a tad biased here. The story? Lucy and Edmund, with their dreadful cousin Eustace, get magically pulled into a painting of a ship at sea.

First images from 'Dawn Treader' debut online

The "Chronicle of Narnia" Facebook page has just debuted three brand-new images from Michael Apted's upcoming big-screen adventure "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."

You can check out the stills above and below. The film wrapped principal photography this week down in Australia, and the release date is currently set for Dec. 10, 2010. It's the third film in the "Narnia" series.

The cast includes Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Gary Sweet and Will Poulter. I'm not a big "Narnia" fan and never read the books, so I have no clue what this one's about.

Fox to develop 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader'

Twentieth Centurty Fox has decided to develop "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."

In December, Walt Disney announced it won't co-produce or co-finance the third installment in the "Narnia" series with Walden Media.

Now that Fox has secured the project, plans are to head into production this fall for a possible release in 2010. The studios are currently working out script and budget issues.

Fox and Walden will split costs, and according to Variety, it may take around $140 million to produce "Dawn Treader." In comparison, "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" cost more than $200 million to make.

"Caspian" opened last year and pulled $419 million worldwide. "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the first film in the series, collected $718 million.

Other than that, not much else is known about the project at this stage. The trade said the film may shoot in Australia. Additionally, Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley will return to reprise their roles. Michael Apted is on board to direct.
