Megan Fox joins 'Friends with Kids'

Megan Fox will soon share the screen with Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig and Adam Scott, because the "Transformers" actress has joined Jennifer Westfeldt's upcoming comedy "Friends with Kids."

THR says the movie follows two best friends (Scott and Westfeldt) who see what having children has done to couples they know and consequently decide to have a kid and then date other people.

Wiig and Hamm will play another couple, and Fox will play a chick Scott's character begins to date. Fox, who starred in "Jonah Hex," has "Passion Play" coming soon. She also stars in "Wish Wizard."

Our thoughts: “Jonah Hex” is a bloody mess of a movie. It’s an utterly chaotic big-screen adventure lacking a decent story and intriguing characters, and the whole film just feels like it was rushed without any passion or attention to detail. On top of that, it’s also a boring flick, and this despite its short 80-minute running time.

Gemma Arterton to board 'Transformers 3'?

With Megan Fox out of the picture, there's an open spot in Michael Bay's "Transformers 3." But who will replace Fox as Shia LaBeouf's romantic interest? According to the TheWrap, Gemma Arterton is a hot contender. Arterton is certainly not the only one on the list, but it seems she's at the front. Other names that have popped up shortly after Fox's exit included Zoe Saldana, Camilla Belle, Amber Heard and Hayden Panetierre. Anyway, Arterton looks hot and all, but I doubt she would be the best choice. She delivered a horrifying performance in "Clash of the Titans," and it doesn't look like she's going to deliver in "Prince of Persia" either.

Finally! First 'Jonah Hex' trailer debuts online

It sure took a while, but the first trailer for Jimmy Hayward's upcoming action adventure "Jonah Hex" has finally found its way to the web. After all, the movie is opening in theaters June 18, 2010, and this is the first footage we see from the film based on John Albano and Tony DeZuniga’s graphic novel.

As expected, the trailer boasts a bunch of gun battles and fun action sequences, and it looks like "Jonah Hex" will be quite the entertaining adventure. Brolin seems to be the right guy for the role, but I'm still not entirely sold on Megan Fox. This character may work for her, but she fails to impress in this trailer.

First 'Jonah Hex' footage hits web

Jimmy Hayward's "Jonah Hex" is supposed to hit theaters June 18, 2010, but so far, we haven't seen that much of the action adventure starring Josh Brolin, Megan Fox and John Malkovich. Well, SyFy premiered a short trailer preview recently, and that spot has now landed on the Web. Check it out below while it lasts.

I know it's too short to really appreciate, but this thing does promise a lot of boom and bang. "Hex" follows a bounty hunter and gunslinger with a scarred face who's tracking down a voodoo practitioner (John Malkovich) trying to raise an undead army of confederate soldiers. We've already seen him on set and on a poster, but here is Josh Brolin in the first official photo from Jimmy Hayward's upcoming big-screen adaptation of "Jonah Hex."

This still is more of a mysterious shot, and as you can see, it doesn't show us Hex's entire face. For a better look at his badass scars, check out this set image right here.

Michael Bay confirms 'Transformers 3' for 2011

Michael Bay today confirmed he will be back for "Transformers 3," and he also said the third installment in the series will come to theaters July 1, 2011. That's right folks: the brainless robots will be back soon...

Bay announced the news on his Web site, and the original statement follows below. He said he just met with ILM here in San Francisco, and now he's heading to Hasbro with screenwriter Ehren Kruger to talk biz, etc.

'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' tops box office!

Sony Pictures Animation's "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" landed at the No. 1 spot at the North American box office Friday with a solid $8.1 million in ticket sales.

The animated adventure directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller is currently playing in both 3D and 2D format at 3,119 locations, and it follows the misadventures of an inventor who creates a device that converts water into food.

At No. 2, Steven Soderbergh's comedy "The Informant!" debuted with a daily gross of $3.6 million. The Warner Bros. release stars Matt Damon as an informant who helps the FBI expose his company's scandal all while hoping he'll be able to move up a few ranks.

Our quick thoughts: To tell you the truth, Karyn Kusama’s horror flick “Jennifer’s Body” worked for me. It’s not a film that will make my list of this year’s best, but it successfully establishes a menacing atmosphere and tells an entertaining action-driven story about a hot high school chick devouring every tasty boy she comes across.
