'Leap Year' trailer shows entire movie

Amy Adams in Leap Year

I'm a huge fan of trailers, but it is quite alarming how many previews these days show us an entire film. Case in point: the new trailer for Anand Tucker's upcoming romantic comedy "Leap Year."

Indeed, this one already reveals all there is to reveal (unless the movie boasts a major twist we don't see here, which i doubt), and on top of that, it doesn't even look that exciting or funny.

In "Leap Year," Amy Adams stars as a young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend (Adam Scott) on leap day, Feb. 29. Tradition says men have to say yes on that day.

Daily news dose: 'Transformers 2' opens early; Goode joins Adams in comedy

Here's your dose of film news for Feb. 16:

• Paramount Pictures has decided to move up Michael Bay's upcoming sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" to June 24, 2008 (Wednesday). Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Rainn Wilson, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro star.

• Matthew Goode is set to star alongside Amy Adams in Anand Tucker's upcoming romantic comedy "Leap Year," about a young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29. Goode will play an Irish innkeeper who joins her when bad weather threatens to ruin her plan. (Variety)

• Curtis Hanson is in talks to direct "Gemini Man," an action flick written by David Benioff. In the film, according to Variety, "an NSA agent tries to retire and is targeted for death. He discovers that his assassin is a younger cloned version of himself." Hanson also directed "In Her Shoes."

• David Ayer is set to write "Deep Sea Cowboys," a thriller based on an article in Wired magazine. Variety says the story "chronicles a salvage crew that tries to save a capsized Japanese cargo ship transporting cars into the U.S." Ayer also wrote "Training Day."

Colin Firth is ‘A Single Man’

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are set to star in Tom Ford’s directorial debut “A Single Man.”

According to Variety, the film follows a British college professor who loses his partner of 16 years. I know it’s not much, but that’s all we know at this stage.

Ford and David Scearce adapted Christopher Isherwood’s novel, which details one day in a professor’s life in Los Angeles.

I assume Firth is on board as the lead character. Firth most recently starred in Universal’s hit musical “Mamma Mia!” He recently wrapped filming for “Dorian Gray.

As for Moore, she was last seen in “Blindness.” She has several projects coming up, including “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” and “Shelter.”

Goode last starred in “Brideshead Revisited.” He’ll appear in Zack Snyder’s upcoming actioner “Watchmen.”
