Talented Cecile de France joins Eastwood drama

Belgian star actress Cécile de France has officially boarded Clint Eastwood's upcoming supernatural thriller "Hereafter," which is currently shooting. Matt Damon is also on board.

Peter Morgan wrote the script, which follows three people touched by death in different ways. Variety says De France is set to play a French journalist having a near-death experience.

"Hereafter" is set for release December 2010. Parts of the film will apparently be shot in San Francisco, which is reason enough for me to keep my eyes wide open everywhere I go in the city.

The master is back in action! Clint Eastwood's next film is a historical sports biopic titled "Invictus," and a first trailer for the film has hit the Web. As expected, it looks grand, so check it out after the jump.

Eastwood directed a screenplay by Anthony Peckham based on a book by John Carlin. The cast of "Invictus" also includes Scott Eastwood, Langley Kirkwood, Robert Hobbs and Tony Kgoroge.

Action-packed trailer for 'Green Zone' hits!

Matt Damon in Green Zone trailer

Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon return to big-screen action in "Green Zone," and as this new trailer for the film suggests, it pretty much looks like a Jason Bourne flick taking place in Iraq during the war.

Still, as you can see below, "Zone" looks action-packed and intense, and as long as it's as original and vibrant as the Bourne films, I'm totally in. After all, Greengrass is a a director I very much appreciate.

On top of that, Damon always looks good in action roles like these, and the guy behind the screenplay isn't a nobody either. It's Brian Helgeland, who worked on "Mystic River" and "L.A. Confidential."

Variety says Damon and Brolin are in talks to join Jeff Briges in the Coen's new version of the 1969 Western based on the book by Charles Portis. The film heads into prod soon and will open next year.

Bridges is on board to play a U.S. marshal who joins forces with a lawman (Damon) and a 14-year-old girl to track down her dad's killer. Brolin would play the bad man. The Coens also penned the screenplay.

Movie Review: “The Informant!”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: September 19, 2009

The players: Director: Steven Soderbergh, Writer: Scott Z. Burns, Cast: Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale, Melanie Lynskey, Thomas F. Wilson

Facts of interest: "The Informant!" is based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald.

The plot: The film follows the misadventures of a white-collar guy who becomes an informant by helping the FBI expose his company's price-fixing conspiracy.

Our thoughts: Steven Soderbergh’s new movie “The Informant!” may not exactly be what you expect, and that’s certainly one of the reasons the film stands out and works on so many levels. This is an awkward little comedy inspired by a true story, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s one heck of an entertaining ride.

Matt Damon in The Informant!

If you haven't seen these on TV yet, make sure to check them out after the jump. I'm talking about three new spots for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming crime comedy "The Informant!" with Matt Damon in the lead role. This looks like one hilariously entertaining picture.

A rising star at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midland, Mark Whitacre (Damon) suddenly turns whistleblower. Even as he exposes his company’s multi-national price-fixing conspiracy to the FBI, Whitacre envisions himself being hailed as a hero of the common man and handed a promotion.
