Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg reunite for “Turkey Bowl”

It looks as though comedians Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will share the big screen once again in Warner Brother’s “Turkey Bowl.” This film will see the two stars face off as leaders of rival football teams in what is sure to be an hour and a half loaded with non-stop improvisation and bizarre cameos.

The last time these guys teamed up was for Adam McKay’s "The Other Guys," and while there were some genuinely funny moments in the film, I attribute that more to strong writing and Ferrell’s comedic chops than the chemistry between the two leads.

Yet, in the end, people will come out in droves to theaters because Ferrell’s on-screen shenanigans are always enjoyable to watch, no matter who's the one sharing the screen with him. Source: Deadline

Mark Wahlberg to star in MacFarlane's 'Ted'

Mark Wahlberg to play with a teddy in a movie

Mark Wahlberg is about to play with a teddy bear. The actor is close to make a deal for the lead role in Seth MacFarlane's directorial feature debut "Ted," a Universal comedy intended for an older audience.

The film is a mix of live-action and CG, and the story follows a man (Wahlberg) whose beloved childhood teddy bear comes to life. MacFarlane wrote the script with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

Also, MacFarlane will lend his voice to the computer-generated bear, who will most likely be foul-mouthed. Wahlberg next stars in "The Fighter." He is also rumored to circle the remake of "The Crow."

Intense trailer for 'The Fighter' debuts

The feature trailer for David O. Russell's upcoming drama "The Fighter" has debuted online, so make sure you check it out after the jump. It's quite intense and looks strong. The film opens Dec. 10, 2010.

Inspired by a true story, the film examines the special relationship between Boston fighter Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and his brother Dicky Ecklund (Christian Bale). Amy Adams and Melissa Leo co-star.

As you can see, Bale lost a ton of weight for his role, and it's his performance I'm really looking forward to, even though I admit Wahlberg looks solid as well. All in all, I'm quite stoked about seeing this...

Movie Review: "The Other Guys"

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: August 3, 2010

The players: Director: Adam McKay, Writers: Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Cast: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton

Facts of interest: McKay also helmed "Anchorman."

The plot: Follows two sloppy NYC cops who step up and take on a big case that will turn their lives around.

Our thoughts: Adam McKay’s new comedy “The Other Guys” is without doubt one of he better summer movies this year. It’s a refreshing flick stuffed with cool action and absurd, yet hilarious humor, and it’s got just the right amount of coolness to keep the big laughs coming. It’s a much better film than McKay’s previous comedy “Step Brothers,” and it’s definitely something I’d love and revisit. It’s uproarious.

Trailer for 'The Other Guys' has arrived

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are teaming up as two lame cops in Adam McKay's new comedy "The Other Guys," and the film just got a first hilarious feature trailer. I usually enjoy McKay's ridiculous flicks, and it seems like this one has the potential to entertain as well. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Ferrell and Wahlberg play two cops envying Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson, who play an elite cop duo. Their only problem is: they kind of suck at what they do. To prove everybody wrong, they find their own big case and try to solve it before someone can snatch it from them. Sounds funny enough.

Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan and Damon Wayans also star in the flick, which opens Aug. 6, 2010. McKay last helmed "Step Brothers," and his credits include "Talladega Nights." Ferrell needs another funny movie, and with Wahlberg on his side, it may just work out this time. Let's hope it will.

Movie Review: "Date Night"

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: April 6, 2010

The players: Director: Shawn Levy, Writer: Josh Klausner, Cast: Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Mark Wahlberg, Common, Mila Kunis, Jame Franco

Facts of interest: None, really.

The plot: A married couple spends a night running around Manhattan after they're targeted by a group of ruthless criminals looking for a flash drive.

Our thoughts: Shawn Levy's new comedy "Date Night" certainly isn't as entertaining or hilarious as one might have hoped, but a handful of likable characters and the undeniable comic talent of Tina Fey and Steve Carell eventually help turn the film into a passable big-screen experience. To tell you the truth, without those two, this flick would be nothing short of an intolerable mess.

Funny motion poster for 'The Other Guys'

This motion poster for Adam McKay's upcoming cop comedy "The Other Guys" showed up at ShoWest recently, but now you can admire it here on the Web as well. It's ready to roll right after the jump, and I have to admit: I like it. McKay has the capability to create amusing comedy, and it looks like Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are a good match for this kind of thing. The film is set to open Aug. 6, 2010.

Ferrell and Wahlberg play two cops envying Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson, who play an elite cop duo. Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan and Damon Wayans also star in the flick. Poster is well done, and it defintiely leaves me wanting to see more. It's the perfect introduction to a teaser, which I hope we'll get to see soon. McKay last helmed "Step Brothers," and his credits include "Talladega Nights."

'Four Brothers' will get sequel

Remember John Singleton's 2005 thriller "Four Brothers"? The film in which Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund kicked butt? Well, that film is about to get a sequel, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.

To be honest, I am among those who really enjoyed the first film, an intense flick that certainly had its problems but definitely captured my attention. Original writers David Elliot and Paul Lovett are penning the script for the sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter says the film will be titled "Five Brothers." Mark Wahlberg will be back to star, and he even came up with the idea with Elliot and Lovett. No other details have been released about the planned follow-up at this stage.

Mark Wahlberg

Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg, who recently starred in "Max Payne," is taking a trip to "Reykjavik-Rotterdam," Working Title's remake of Óskar Jónasson's 2008 Icelandic thriller of the same title.

The story follows a security guard and ex alcohol smuggler who considers returning to the illegal business after he runs into financial trouble. Aaron Guzikowski ("Prisoners") will write the script.

The Hollywood Reporter says Baltasar Kormákur, who starred in the original "Reykjavik," is in talks to direct the remake. The accalimed original film is Iceland's entry for the upcoming Oscars foreign film race.
