The film is based on Park's 1995 flick "301/302" and follows what happens when a culinary perfectionist (Tyler) and a failed actress (Tomei) become neighbors. Oscar 2009 wish list: I want 'Milk' to win!

We're only a couple of weeks away from the 81st Annual Academy Awards, and here is my personal wish list for the ceremony. Please note these are NOT my predicitions. This is merely a list of films and folks I would like to see win an Oscar.

ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE: MICKEY ROURKE

Why him? This is a tough one already, primarily because I also absoutely loved Richard Jenkins in "The Visitor." Still, to me personally, Rourke delivered the best performance of the year in "The Wrestler," and I would love to see him take home this golden statuette. He's nailed a wonderful comeback, and his efforts as Randy was just deeply moving and highly realistic.

Reilly, Tomei check in with Duplass bros.

John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei and Jonah Hill are in negotiations to star in a Fox Searchlight untitled comedy written and directed by Mark and Jay Duplass.

According to Variety, the film follows a divorced man (Reilly) who falls in love with the woman (Tomei) of his dreams. Unfortunately, she has a son (Hill) who does not want his mother to date anyone.

This premise pretty much sounds exactly like "Mamma's Boy," in which Jon Heder played an idiot son who refused to share his mother (Diane Keaton) with a new man (Jeff Daniels).

Anyway, the Duplass brothers most recently helmed "Baghead." They are currently wrapping up post-production for "The Do-Deca-Pentathlon."

Reilly was last seen in "Step Brothers." He will next star in Paul Weitz's "Cirque du Freak." As for Tomei, she will next be seen in "The Wrestler" with Mickey Rourke. Hill is currently filming Judd Apatow's "Funny People."

Check out this new 'The Wrestler' clip

Here's a new clip from Darren Aronofsky's upcoming drama "The Wrestler," in which Mickey Rourke plays a retired pro wrestler who risks his life by returning to the ring for one final match against his big rival.

I'm sure by now you've heard all the positive stuff that critics said about the film, which won the prestigious Golden Lion at this year's Venice Film Festival.

In the footage after the jump, Rourke asks co-star Marisa Tomei out for a beer. It's a pretty short clip, but I can already see why everybody loves Rourke in this role. He just seems to be the perfect guy for it.

"The Wrestler" will open in limited release Dec. 17, 2008. Let's keep our fingers crossed it will expand shortly after that.

'The Wrestler' pulls strong reviews in Venice

Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler" premiered at the Venice Film Festival this week, and the first reviews are quite positive. Starring Mickey Rourke, the film centers on a pro wrestler who risks his life by challenging his big rival for one final match. Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei co-star. Here's a summary of what the press is saying about it:

"Rourke dispenses with all vanity to plumb the depths of this well-meaning but severely damaged man," writes Stephen Farber in The Hollywood Reporter.

"Physically imposing at 57, with a face that bespeaks untold battering and alteration, Rourke is simply staggering as Ram," says Todd McCarthy in Variety.

"Rather, it’s tender, finely detailed and moving - aided in no small part by Aronofsky’s feeling for the disorder of ordinary lives, and his elegant visual sense," writes Shane Danielsen over at Times Online.

So far, this sound awesome. Let's hope "The Wrestler" enters the theatrical ring soon.

Check out brand-new pics from 'The Wrestler'

One of the five American flicks to compete for the Golden Lion at this year's Venice Film Festival is Darren Aronofsky's sports drama "The Wrestler," in which Mickey Rourke plays a pro wrestler who risks his life by challenging his big rival for one final match. Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei co-star.

The guys over at Bad Taste recently got a hold of some new pictures from the upcoming film, and you can see one of them just above. For the rest, click right here. Right now I'm waiting for a first trailer for the film, but from what I've seen in pics so far, Rourke seems to be the ideal guy to play this lead. Let's hope this flick will attract more attention than Aronofsky's "The Fountain."
