The 30 most exciting films of 2010!

The year 2010 has arrived my dear readers, and that means it's time to look ahead and check out what upcoming films at least sound or look pretty exciting. Here are the 30 flicks I'm most excited about.

Please note that there are films that could be released this year but haven't been confirmed for 2010 yet. This list only includes movies that will open in theaters this year, unless they get suddenly postponed.

This list is based solely on my personal opinion. Some of these films don't yet have any trailers or official images, but I added them to the list because of reasons you can find out about below. Enjoy!

Ten Worst Films of 2009

Yes, the year 2009 is history, so it's time for me to pick the films I hated most. Unfortunately, I've seen many terrible films this year, which makes it all too easy to find the 10 flicks I couldn't stand at all in '09.

It is a sad truth, but the quantity of lame movies always overpowers the selection of good films each year, and 2009 was no different. Hence, I found myself thinking about leaving the theater more than once.

Films such as "Bride Wars," "Shorts," "Whiteout" and "New in Town" were really painful to watch, yes, but to be honest, I encountered a whole bunch of flicks that were far worse. Enjoy the selection below.

Ten Best Films of 2009

The year 2009 has come to an end, and I admit I got to enjoy a bunch of superb films, even though the movie year wasn't necessarily as powerful in terms of quality as some other recent years.

That said, these are my favorite flicks of 2009. Please note I picked these movies from all those I've seen this year. I really tried to watch as many as possible, but I admit I did miss a few in the end.

To keep a long story short, enjoy these picks and feel free to comment on them or post your own top 10. Thanks for stopping by, and here's to a new year filled with awesome cinematic experiences.

Yahoo!'s most-viewed trailers of 2009 are...

New Moon trailer is most-watched

The folks at Yahoo! Movies always publish the list of the most-viewed trailers of the year, and this year's list is not entirely surprising. That said, the year's most-viewed trailers clearly aren't always the best.

The most-watched trailer is "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which really doesn't surprise me. After all, that trailer is better than the entire film. "Moon" is followed by "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

The third most-viewed preview is "2012," followed by "Terminator Salvation." Wait, where is "Avatar"? It only made ninth place, and it's pretty much the only big surprise here. I expected it to be up higher.

Five films that absolutely sucked this year

5. FIRED UP!
Yes, this is that lame movie about two guys going to cheer camp to hook up with chicks, and yes, it is as terrible as it sounds. Stupid characters, painful dialogue and jokes that simply don't work are all over this flick, which is pretty much as absurd as filmmaking can get. Wait, calling it filmmaking is a mistake in the first place. I'm just going to call it big-screen trash. Yes, that sounds about right. More about this one here.

Five best films of 2009 (so far)

5. THE SOLOIST
Even though Joe Wright's "The Soloist" did not impress me as much as I expected, I still ended up loving it, particularly because of its unforgettable story, gorgeous photography, stellar cast and marvelous soundtrack. As a film about the power of friendship and the struggle for redemption, "The Soloist" worked really well, and what I enjoyed most was Robert Downey Jr.'s honest and heartfelt performance.

Five worst films of 2009 (so far)

We're only two months into 2009, and I regret to announce I've already seen tons of bad movies this year. January was a mess, February wasnt exactly better either, and March... well, we'll see.

Below you'll find the five films I hated most this year. Of course, 2009 is far from over, but these are the worst of January/February:

5. INKHEART
I simply had to put "Inkheart" on this list because it's undoubtedly the most boring film I've seen so far this year. I decided to stick around until the end because I hoped the final part of the movie would at least be a tiny bit entertaining, but as it turned out, that was not the case.

Ten Best Movie Trailers of 2008

The year 2008 is quickly coming to a close, so I've decided to go back and pick my 10 favorite movie trailers of the year (yes, "The Dark Knight" is one of them). Before I get started, here are some notes about my selection:

I've only looked at trailers for films that were actually released in 2008. Trailers for films that won't be released until 2009 were excluded from my selection, but I will take those into consideration at the end of next year.

Also, the following list is solely based on the quality of the trailers, and they have nothing to do with my opinion about the actual movies.

Lastly, feel free to post your own selections using the comment section below.

Five worst films of the summer of '08

The summer season at the movies has come to and end, and it's time to look back at what films really stank this year. Here are the five worst films of the summer of '08.

5. MIRRORS
While he kicks serious butt on television, Kiefer Sutherland is not exactly a hero on the big screen, and his stunt in "Mirrors" is pretty much disastrous. Besides a series of cheap shock effects and a couple of ridiculous twists, Alexandre Aja's disappointing horror remake barely has anything to offer for the return of the price of admission. Scares and an intriguing story are absent.
