The plot: Machete is an ex-Federale who goes after some bad guys who screwed him over and messed with his family.

Our thoughts: It sure took long enough to happen, but now, Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete” is finally alive! The crazy action flick with Danny Trejo opens in theaters this weekend, and wow, what a freaking cool ride this is! Boasting insane, bloody battles, loud explosions and the most hilarious dialogue all over the place, “Machete” may just be one of the most thrilling and entertaining films of 2010.

How about Lindsay Lohan making an ugly face while dressed as a nun and holding a big gun? You got it in the movie still above. It's from Robert Rodriguez's upcoming movie "Machete," opening Sept. 3, 2010.

FilmTotaal.nl posted the pic, which shows Lohan as April. Danny Trejo stars as a man who is orderd to kill a senator but ends up being double-crossed. He then seeks revenge against those who screwed him.

Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriquez, Cheech Marin and Don Johnson co-star. I don't think Lohan's role is that huge, but here's to hoping she'll deliver at least a halfway acceptable performance.

New 'Machete' photos debut online

A bunch of brand-new photos from Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis' upcoming action adventure "Machete" have invaded the Web, and you can check some of them below. The film opens Sept. 3, 2010.

The cool stills below give you a good look at lead actor Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Steven Seagal. Trejo plays a man who is orderd to kill a U.S. senator but ends up being double-crossed.

Monday morning movie news: 'Kick-Ass' finds distributor; Writers board 'Brewster's Millions'

• Time to kick butt! Lionsgate to distribute 'Kick-Ass' in wide 2010 release

Matthew Vaughn's upcoming action comedy "Kick-Ass" has found a distribution home as Lionsgate has landed domestic rights to the flick. Based on the comic book series by Mark Millar, the film follows a boring high school student (played by Aaron Johnson) who attempts to become a real-life superhero named Kick-Ass.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Nicholas Cage, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Chloe Moretz co-star. Footage from the film was shown at this year's Comic-Con, and it sure received a bunch of of positive responses.

Angry Lindsay Lohan blogs Sarah Palin

Lindsay Lohan may not really be working on a big-screen comeback at the moment, but that doesn't mean she's not doing anything at all. So what is she doing?

Although it's a tough one to guess, Lohan is currently taking some time every now and then to blog about... Sarah Palin. Now that's a surprise, right?

What she has to say about the vice-presidential candidate from Alaska is not all too positive though. In a recent entry on her MySpace Blog, Lohan expressed her anger about all the hype and coverage around teen pregnancy in connection to Palin's pregnant daughter.

"I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them-if elected," she wrote. You can read more about that entry here.

Just yesterday, Lohan added a brand-new entry, in which she writes: "I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be..."
 

However, Lindsay also wrote, "I feel it's necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman." More on that here.

Welcome back Lindsay Lohan. No one ever expected you would launch into political blogging. But hey, why not? And in case you were wondering about Lohan's acting career, she's just done filming a couple of episodes for "Ugly Betty." Big screen projects include "Labor Pains" and "Dare to Love Me."

Lindsay Lohan returns to the big screen in "Labor Pains," a comedy in which she stars as a young woman who fakes a pregnancy to avoid being fired from her job. Need I really say more? Well, the trailer for the flick has arrived, and it doesn't necessarily look that good. Sure, the basic idea of this plot sounds funny, but what you'll see above is anything but hilarious.

I am more than willing to give Lohan a chance to make a big-screen comeback, but I highly suggest she starts looking around for something, well... more sophisticated, maybe? At this stage, I don't know if "Labor Pains" is going to do the trick. Looks pretty painful indeed. What do you guys think? Post your feedback below.
