Las Vegas film critics choose 'Frost/Nixon'
The Las Vegas Film Critics Society announced the 2008 winners of its Sierra Awards Thursday, and "Frost/Nixon" emerged with a total of five wins.
Besides taking home the award for best picture, "Frost/Nixon" also won best actor for Frank Langella, best director for Ron Howard, best screenplay for Peter Morgan and best editing for Mike Hill and Daniel P. Hanley.
Kate Winslet received the best actress award for her performances in "Revolutionary Road" and "The Reader," while Marisa Tomei won best supporting actress for "The Wrestler."
Heath Ledger was named best supporting actor for "The Dark Knight." Claudio Miranda won best cinematography for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," while James Newton Howard took home best score for "Defiance."
Other winners: "WALL-E," best animated film; "Man on Wire," best documentary; "Mongol," best foreign film; and "Iron Man," best visual effects.
