Samuel L. Jackson, Kellan Lutz play 'Deathgames'

Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz are joining an action flick about fighting. The title of the film is "Deathgames," and the story focuses on a man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and taken to a big gladiator arena where he is forced to take part in deadly fights that are streamed online.

Okay, last time I checked, this film was titled "The Condemned," and it sucked big time. Anyway, Heat Vision reports Jackson will be boss of the show who sets up the games and monitors the action on the field. Jonah Loop will direct the film. Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez and Tony Giglio wrote the script.

'Twilight' actor joins 'War of the Gods'

All of a sudden, movies about angry gods pop up all over the place. "Percy Jackson" has come and gone, "Clash of the Titans" is coming up this April, and another one to hit the big screen soon is "War of the Gods." Variety today reported "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz has join the cast, which includes Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto.

The film centers on Theseus, a warrior who heads into battle with the Greek gods in order to fight the evil gods of the Titans. Lutz, the trade says, will play Poseidon. Tarsem Singh, director of "The Fall" and "The Cell," is helming the flick. Jason Keller wrote the most recent draft. Lutz will soon be seen in "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

Visually, the new 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' trailer delivers

Bath scene in Nightmare on Elm Street remake

I'm not a fan of remakes. I say it over and over again, but it's the truth. Another flick pulled through the remake machine in Hollywood is "A Nightmare on Elm Street," and a brand-new feature trailer for the Samuel Bayer-directed horror film is now online.

Now, visually, it looks intriguing for sure. I like the lighting in these shots, and it looks like they managed to deliver some decent effects as well. The atmosphere seems creepy enough, and I'm liking the look of Freddy Krueger. His voice though? Not so much.

The great Jackie Earle Haley will be playing Krueger, a ruthless killer who sneaks into people's dreams and kills them while they're sleeping. Michael Bay is a producer on the flick, and I know that doesn't sound all too promising. But who knows... it may be entertaining.
