Hallyday, Testud seek 'Vengeance'
French stars Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Testud have signed on to star in Johnny To's upcoming crime thriller "Vengeance."
Written by Wai Ka-fai, the film follows a French assassin who becomes a chef and travels to Hong Kong to avenge a murder. Production on the project has started, with a release expected next summer, according to Variety.
To was supposed to direct a remake of the French classic "Le Cercle Rouge," and while he's currently working on "Vengeance," the trade says the project is still in development.
Legendary rock star Hallyday's big-screen credits include "L'Homme du Train" (Man on the Train) and "Jean-Philippe." As for Testud, she starred alongside Marion Cotillard in Olivier Dahan's Oscar-winnning "La Vie en Rose."
