Vin Diesel to play lead in Paramount's 'Wheelman'

Vin Diesel won't be slowing down anytime soon. The star of "Fast & Furious" is set to star in Paramount Pictures' upcoming big-screen adaptation of Ubisoft's "The Wheelman," a videogame that already features the actor as its main character. Variety says John Singleton, who also helmed "2 Fast 2 Furious" and "Four Brothers," will direct a screenplay by Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell. Rich Wilkes wrote the original script.

Diesel is playing a talented driver who kisses retirement good-bye to protect a woman from his past. His return to the "Fast & Furious" franchise proved to be quite lucrative, because the fourth installment in the series has already collected $150.9 million domestically. I've never played "Wheelman" and don't know if the game's plot is worth it, but Diesel is certainly the right guy to play this role. Okay, Jason Statham would probably perfect too.

Ice Cube more than ready to join ‘A-Team’

The story itself is several days old already, but as far as I know it got little attention back when it was published. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube said he’s so ready to star in a big-screen version of “The A-Team.”

As you may have guessed already, Cube is eyeing the role of Sgt. Bosco “B.A.” Baracus, the character originally played by Mr. T. “Man, I am so ready to play ‘B.A.’ Baracus. I was a big, big Mr. T fan,” Cube told the LA Times.

Attached to direct the project is John Singleton, who previously worked with Cube on 1991’s “Boyz n the Hood.” He said working with the director on an “A-Team” flick would definitely be his priority.

I’m not exactly a fan of Cube’s recent big-screen work, but I do have to admit I can see him play the part of B.A. Rumored to play Col. Hannibal Smith is Bruce Willis by the way, with Woody Harrelson in talks to star as Murdock.

Cube will next be seen in “The Longshots,” a sports drama directed by Fred Durst. Click here to read what else the actor had to say about “The A-Team.”
