Here's the trailer for 'Something Borrowed'

The folks at Yahoo! just premiered the trailer for Luke Greenfield's upcoming big-screen adaptation of Emily Giffin's popular novel "Something Borrowed," which hits theaters May 6, 2011. You can check it out after the jump. First impression: looks cute and promises at least a few solid performances.

Starring in the flick are Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski. The story follows a Manhattan lawyer (Goodwin) who ends up in bed with her best friend's fiance (Egglesfield) after her 30th birthday. Fun fact: Luke Greenfield also directed "The Girl Next Door."

Tim Blake Nelson joins 'Whales' project

Tim Blake Nelson is the latest to join Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski in "Everybody Loves Whales," which also stars Kristen Bell. Ken Kwapis will direct the movie based on the book "Freeing the Whales."

Set in 1988, the story follows a news reporter and Greenpeace member (John & Drew) who do whatever it takes to save three whales trapped in Arctic Circle. THR says Nelson plays a a wildlife expert.

Nelson, a great actor, recently did "Leaves of Grass" and "Saint John of Las Vegas." He's got a few projects coming soon, including "The Big Year," "Yelling to the Sky" and Rob Minkoff's "Flypaper."

Kristen Bell to join 'Everybody Loves Whales'

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell's "When in Rome" sucked so bad, she really needs a good film now to restore the damage the disastrous comedy caused on the big screen. Maybe "Everybody Loves Whales" will help.

Bell is in talks to join the project, which already stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski. Universal is developing "Whales," and Ken Kwapis is in talks to direct, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Set in 1988, the story follows a news reporter and Greenpeace member (John & Drew) who do whatever it takes to save three whales trapped in Arctic Circle. Bell plays a reporter looking for the big break.

Final 'Captain America' contenders!

The race for the role of "The First Avenger: Captain America" is hearting up, and as Heat Vision reports, about seven actors are left in the competition. And now the big shock: John Krasinski is one of them fighting for the lead in the upcoming superhero flick.

Wait, what? That's right. Krasinski is apparently on the list, and so are Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Scott Porter and Mike Vogel. Word is even Chace Crawford may show up at the screen tests, which are underway this week at Marvel. Joe Johnston will direct the film.

Even though these people are doing tests this week, Marvel may end up deciding to go look somewhere else. Still, the idea of seeing someone like Krasinski in the main role seems strange, even though I love him as an actor. I would never doubt his skills.

Johnston also recently gave a "Captain America" update, which you can check out here. The question remains: who would you like to see slip into the role of the Captain?

Movie Review: “It’s Complicated”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: December 25, 2009

The players: Director: Nancy Meyers, Writer: Nancy Meyers, Cast: Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Lake Bell

Facts of interest: Meyers previously directed "The Holiday."

The plot: Jane and Jake have been divorced for 10 years. Chaos erupts when the two start having an affair.

Our thoughts: Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin offer a trio of wonderful performances in Nancy Meyers’ new comedy “It’s Complicated,” a simplistic, yet quite charming and overall mildly entertaining film about what happens to a divorcee when she engages in a passionate affair with her ex-husband.

Trailer for Nancy Meyers' 'It's Complicated'

Here's a rather interesting trailer for Nancy Meyers' latest comedy "It's Complicated," starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Blanchard Ryan, Lake Bell and Rita Wilson. Here's the synopsis:

Jane (Streep) is the mother of three grown kids, owns a thriving Santa Barbara bakery/restaurant and has—after a decade of divorce—an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, attorney Jake (Baldwin).

But when Jane and Jake find themselves out of town for their son’s college graduation, things start to get complicated. An innocent meal together turns into the unimaginable—an affair. With Jake remarried to the much younger Agness (Lake Bell), Jane is now, of all things, the other woman.

Yeah, sounds pretty intriguing right? To be honest, it looks quite refreshing as well. Meyers' more recent credits include "The Holiday" and "Something's Gotta Give," and I enjoyed both of these flicks. "Complicated" opens Dec. 25, 2009.
