McHale joins 'Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World'

The cast for Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World" is growing, and the latest to join the party is Joel McHale, the dude who's playing Jeff Winger on television's "Community."

Variety says McHale plays a reporter married to Jessica Alba's character. She is a spy reactivated to participate in a mission and help her stepchildren bring down the evil Time Keeper.

"Spy Kids 4" is shooting now and will open Aug. 19, 2011. McHale also starred in "The Informant!," "Spider-Man 2" and "Lords of Dogtown." He will soon be seen in "What's Your Number?"

Facts of interest: "The Informant!" is based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald.

The plot: The film follows the misadventures of a white-collar guy who becomes an informant by helping the FBI expose his company's price-fixing conspiracy.

Our thoughts: Steven Soderbergh’s new movie “The Informant!” may not exactly be what you expect, and that’s certainly one of the reasons the film stands out and works on so many levels. This is an awkward little comedy inspired by a true story, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s one heck of an entertaining ride.
