Great new 'Up in the Air' trailer lands online

George Clooney in Up in the Air

A brand-new trailer for Jason Reitman's upcoming drama "Up in the Air" has landed, and I encourage you to check it out after the jump. It's a beautiful preview that makes me want to see this one asap.

The film follows George Clooney as a corporate downsizing expert who helps large companies fire their executives and spends most of his time flying to collect a bunch of frequent-flyer miles.

Movie Review: “Jennifer’s Body”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: September 14, 2009

The players: Director: Karyn Kusama, Writer: Diablo Cody, Cast: Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, J. K. Simmons, Amy Sedaris

Facts of interest: Diablo Cody also penned "Juno."

The plot: A sexy high school cheerleader (Megan Fox) starts running around eating every tasty boy she can find.

Our quick thoughts: To tell you the truth, Karyn Kusama’s horror flick “Jennifer’s Body” worked for me. It’s not a film that will make my list of this year’s best, but it successfully establishes a menacing atmosphere and tells an entertaining action-driven story about a hot high school chick devouring every tasty boy she comes across.

Simmons, Messina to find ‘Invisible Sign’

J.K. Simmons and Chris Messina have signed on to join Jessica Alba in Marilyn Agrelo’s upcoming drama “An Invisible Sign of My Own.”

Based on the novel by Aimee Bender, the film follows a reclusive math teacher (Alba) whose life takes a turn when a new science teacher starts working at her school.

Details about Messina’s and Simmons’ roles are unknown at this point. Variety describes the project as an "Amelie"-style indie.

Simmons can currently be seen onscreen in “Burn After Reading.” His future projects include “Jennifer’s Body” and “Crazy on the outside.”

As for Messina, he most recently starred in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and “Humboldt County.” He’ll also appear in Nora Ephron’s “Julie & Julia.”

Final word: Sounds like an interesting project, although I’m not quite sure about this “Amelie”-style thing. “Amelie” is a unique masterpiece no one can get remotely close to.
