Five-minute ‘Earth Stood Still’ trailer hits!

If you’re looking forward to Scott Derrickson’s upcoming remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” we’ve got a new five-minute trailer for you just below the jump.

Most of the footage is taken from the teaser trailer and a television preview, but it will give you a much better idea of what is going on in this sci-fi spectacle.

In the film, Keanu Reeves plays an alien whose arrival on Earth creates quite an upheaval. Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, Jaden Smith and John Cleese co-star.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of remakes, this footage doesn’t look all that bad. “Earth” hits theaters Dec. 12, 2008.
