Trailer for 'Couples Retreat' with Vince Vaughn

How about an awkward vacation with Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau? That's what's on the menu in Peter Billingsley's upcoming comedy "Couples Retreat," which is due in theaters Oct. 9, 2009.

A first trailer for the comedy has popped up online, and you can check it out below. The footage did not entirely win me over, but I believe this is actually something that could be pretty funny.

The film follows four couples who spend some time at a tropical island resort, where they quickly find out that participation in a couple therapy program is mandatory. Jean Reno plays a therapist and the owner of the resort.

The interesting cast also includes Faizon Love, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, Tasha Smith and Kristin Davis. Favreau wrote the film based on an idea by Vaughn.

Movie Review: "The Pink Panther 2"

Facts of interest: Zwart also directed "Agent Cody Banks."

The plot: Inspector Clouseau is assigned to lead a team of detectives trying to track down a thief who stole precious treasures, including the Pink Panther diamond.

Our thoughts: “The Pink Panther 2” is just as worse as its disastrous predecessor. Nope, Steve Martin is still not funny as Jacques Clouseau, and yes, the script is still incredibly amateurish and utterly boring. Indeed, if you cherish your money, don’t waste it on this sequel.

Jean Reno packs for ‘Couples Retreat’

Jean Reno is the latest to join the cast of Peter Billingsley’s upcoming comedy “Couples Retreat,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Written by Jon Favreau, the film follows four couples who spend some time at a tropical island resort, where they quickly find out that participation in a couple therapy program is mandatory.

Reno is set to play a therapist and the owner of the resort. Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman and Faizon Love play the guys, with Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman and Kristin Davis on board as the girls.

Reno, who recently starred in Eric Besnard’s “Ca$h,” will also appear in Harald Zwart’s upcoming sequel “Pink Panther 2.” He also recently wrapped filming for Nimród Antal’s “Armored.”

Final word: Reno as a crazy therapist in an American flick sounds totally hilarious. He alone will be worth seeing this.
