Chris Klein talks 'American Reunion'

In a stunning event that not even Nostradamus could have predicted, "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" star Chris Klein is back in the limelight! I know some of you are wondering why, and it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that it is not regarding a sequel to 2002's "Rollerball," but rather the highly anticipated sequel to the "American Pie" series.

In a recent sit-down with THR, Klein revealed some plot points for the upcoming film, "American Reunion." For starters, Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan's characters Jim and Michele will have a child in the film. On top of this, Klein went on to say that the entire original cast has signed on and that they aren't necessarily sticking to the script.

He said, "There's a bit of ad-libbing and riffing that goes on. We're all having a really good time." Finally, in a wonderful bit of irony, Klein's character Oz will be a Hollywood hotshot in the film. While I am not surprised by the news of Biggs and Hannigan having a child in the film, I am concerned about this particular cast injecting their own one-liners into the film.

But who am I to say? I imagine that letting Tara Reid fly off the handle will surely produce some sort of entertainment. Are you guys excited by this news?

Universal Studios to bring together an 'American Reunion'

Just when you think that life couldn't get any better, it doesn't. It looks as though America will be getting one more slice of the "American Pie" franchise in the near future. Yes, you are reading this right.

Universal Studios has completed a deal that will bring together original cast members Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, and Eugene Levy for a fourth installment of the popular series.

Negotiations are also underway to bring back Tara Reid, Chris Klein, and Mena Suvari to reprise their roles. This will be the first time that the crew will be back together since 2003's "American Wedding."

Oh, and a release is set for April 6, 2012 (via Deadline)

Are you ready for ‘American Pie 4’?

If you’re a huge “American Pie” fan hoping for a return of Jim (Jason Biggs) and co. to the big screen, this may be your happy day.

According to Moviehole, Universal is seriously considering developing a new sequel in the popular series, which kicked off with “American Pie” in 1999.

Although nothing has been confirmed at this stage and we have absolutely no idea what a new follow-up would focus on, chances are the flick will follow the newly married Jim and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan).

Ever since the release of “American Wedding” in 2003, we’ve seen quite a number of direct-to-video “American Pie” spin-offs, which have been quite successful.

In case Universal confirms plans for a new sequel, it’ll be interesting to see who they manage to bring back from the previous three flicks.

Here’s what each of the first three movies brought in domestically: “American Pie” took home $101 million; its sequel earned $145 million; and “Wedding” collected $104 million.

Final word: I’ve personally had more than enough of this.

Review: “My Best Friend’s Girl”

Seen on: September 21, 2008

The players: Director: Howard Deutch, Writer: Jordan Cahan, Cast: Dane Cook, Kate Hudson, Alec Baldwin, Jason Biggs, Lizzy Caplan

Facts of interest: None at all.

The plot: Tank (Cook) takes women on horrible dates to make them appreciate good guys and run back to their ex-boyfriends. He meets his biggest challenge yet when his best friend (Biggs) asks him to take out his love interest (Hudson).

Our quick thoughts: Howard Deutch’s “My Best Friend’s Girl” is a tough comedy to sit through. First and foremost, it’s not funny. Second, it’s incredibly boring. Third, it runs for 101 long minutes. And fourth, it tells a story that’s as monotonous as these stories can get. In other words, it’s a disaster.

New clip from 'My Best Friend's Girl' pops up

MTV today premiered a new clip from Howard Deutch's "My Best Friend's Girl," which opens this Friday. The film stars Dane Cook as a nasty guy who struggles with the meaning of friendship when his best friend asks him to take his ex out on a horrible date so she can crawl back to him. Or something like that. Jason Biggs and Kate Hudson co-star.

Yeaaaaah, I really don't know about this one. While the trailer looks terrible, this footage is actually not that pathetic. Then again, the film stars Dane Cook, the man who stole 101 minutes of my life in last year's dreadfully embarrassing comedy "Good Luck Chuck." We'll see on Friday.

Watch a lame clip from 'My Best Friend's Girl'

One movie I'm not at all looking forward to this fall is "My Best Friend's Girl,"Howard Deutch's upcoming comedy starring Kate Hudson, Dane Cook and Jason Biggs. In the film, Cook struggles with the meaning of friendship when his best friend asks him to take his ex (Hudson) out on a horrible date so she can crawl back to him.

Lionsgate today released a brief clip from the film, but I don't think it's funny at all. In fact, it's pretty much pathetic. Kind of what you can expect from a comedy starring Hudson, Cook and Biggs. Anyway, check it out above and let me know what you think. I was glad when it was over, although I am afraid I'll have to sit through more of this unfunny stuff when the film hits theaters Sept. 19, 2008.
