Amber Heard is in talks to star alongside Johnny Depp in Bruce Robinson's "The Rum Diary," based on the book by Hunter S. Thompson.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, this is what Heard is up against:
"'Diary' will place Heard at the front and center of a love triangle in the tale of a washed-up, hard-drinking journalist named Paul Kemp (Depp) in 1950s Puerto Rico. Heard will play Chenault, the free-spirited girlfriend of a fellow journalist who cheats on him with Kemp, trying to convince him to run away with her."
Sounds interesting enough. The trade also says other actresses were looking at the role, although some were a bit concerned about the required nudity. Heard, however, doesn't seem to have a problem with that.
Besides her role in "Alpha Dog," Heard also starred in "Remember the Daze." Can't say I liked the movie a lot, but her looks made it watchable enough. She also played Seth Rogen's girlfriend in "Pineapple Express."
By the way, Thompson also wrote the book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," which made it to the big screen with Depp in the role of Raoul Duke.
