Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pearce join 'Speech'

Tom Hooper's next film "The King's Speech" features quite an impressive cast, as Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Ehle, Guy Pearce, Derek Jacobi, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon boarded the project.

Also starring in the period drama are Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Hopper is directing a script by David Seidler, and filming has already kicked off in England.

What is "The King's Speech" about? Essentially, the story focuses on the relationship between King George VI and his speech therapist Lionel Logue, who supported the king in many ways.

Fancy more 'Alice in Wonderland' photos? You got it.

I don't know about you, but I'm already eagerly waiting for a teaser trailer for Tim Burton's vision of "Alice in Wonderland," which won't open in theaters until March 5, 2010.

In the meantime, I've stumbled across several set pics and concept art, and just the other day, I found some more pics from the upcoming mix of live action and performance capture.

The pics (from Vanity Fair) were posted on Planeta Disney (via CS), and they offer you a glimpse at Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Oh, and the third one is that famous Johnny Depp shot as the Mad Hatter. I'm sure you've seen it already.

Anne Hathaway, Matt Lucas and Crispin Glover co-star, among others. The film will also be released in 3D.

Hathaway, Carter join 'Alice in Wonderland'

Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter have signed on to star in Tim Burton’s new take on Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The trade says Hathaway is set to play the White Queen, the kind monarch banished by the Queen of Hearts (Carter), who’s known for yelling “Off with their heads!”

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is already on board to play Alice, while Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter. Matt Lucas plays Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Also starring is Michael Sheen.

The project, which has started shooting and will be released in 3D in 2010, is described as a mix of live action and performance-capture technology.

Hathaway recently received plenty of critical acclaim for her performance in “Rachel Getting Married.” The actress will next be seen in “Passengers,” followed by Gary Winick’s “Bride Wars.”

Carter, who’s obviously a regular in Burton’s flick, last starred in “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” She will also briefly appear in McG’s “Terminator Salvation.”

Wow, what a great cast they’re getting together for this. My curiosity is rapidly growing.
