Daily news dose: David Arquette and wife sign for 'Scream 4;' New director boards 'Hack/Slash'

Here is your dose of film news for July 14, 2009:
• E! Online can now confirm David Arquette and Courteney Cox have officially signed on to star in "Scream 4," which Kevin Williamson is writing and Wes Craven may end up directing (Craven recently said he would not be interested, really, but who knows how quickly thay could change).
• Fredrik Bond is set to direct "Hack/Slash," based on a comic book created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli. The story follows Cassie Hack, a tough woman who spends her time hunting slashers with her partner Vlad. Justin Mark wrote the current script. Bond is a commercial director who's attached to direct "The Host" remake. (THR)
• Empire has posted a new photo of Anne Hathaway as the White Queen in Tim Burton's upcoming version of "Alice in Wonderland." Mia Wasikowska stars as Alice in the mix of live action and performance capture, due in theaters in 3D March 5, 2010. Johnny Depp co-stars. Check out the pic below.
