New 'Halloween 2' clip rather shaky

When Michael Myers attacks, Rob Zombie's camera starts shaking, as you can see in MTV's latest clip from the upcoming horror sequel "H2," which will debut in theaters Aug. 28, 2009. Tyler Mane stars as the film's leading killer, who in this clip goes after one of his victims. Check it out after the jump. The sequel starts right where its predecessor left off. Trailer for 'H2: Halloween 2' fails to impress

The trailer for H2:Halloween 2 is here

I count myself among those who weren't really impressed with Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake, and to be honest, I couldn't care less about a sequel. But the film scored almost $80 million worldwide, and now we're just a few months away from the release of "H2: Halloween 2" (Aug. 28, 2009), which starts right where its predecessor left off.

The first trailer for the follow-up popped up online recently, and you can check it out after the jump. Sure, the footage looks dark and I'm sure Rombie kept his promise and turned it into an even more brutal horror show than the first film, but all in all, I'm still not really impressed by what I saw here. See for yourself and let me know what you think.

Rob Zombie releases new 'Halloween 2' photo

Myers is back in action in H2: Halloween 2

Rob Zombie is taking some time answering questions about his upcoming horror sequel "H2: Halloween 2" on his MySpace blog, and here's his answer on whether this is a remake of "Halloween 2." Below you'll also find a brand-new still he posted on his blog. "H2" opens Aug. 28, 2009.

"The answer is no. This movie has nothing to do with the movie that came out back in 1981. The only thing slightly the same is my film has a brief hospital scene at the top of the film and even that is 100% different. These are all new characters and all new situations.

Here's a look at Michael Myers in 'Halloween 2'

Rob Zombie just announced he wrapped principal photography for his upcoming horror sequel "H2: Halloween 2," which will hit theaters Aug. 28, 2009. He also posted a new picture of Michael Myers on his MySpace blog, and you can check it out after the jump. I admit he doesn't look that bad.

"H2" kicks off immediately where the last one ended, but that's pretty much all I know about the plot at this stage. I can't say I'm very excited about this sequel because I didn't enjoy Zombie's first film, but then again, you never know. Maybe this follow-up will be a little more intriguing after all.

Posters for 'Pelham 123,' 'H2' and 'Crank 2'

My poster radar picked up four brand-new one-sheets on the Web today, and here they are:

The first one is for Tony Scott's remake "The Taking of Pelham 123," starring Denzel Washington, John Travolta, John Turturro and Luis Guzman.

In the film, a cop tries to catch a gang of criminals hijacking a New York subway train. Brian Helgeland wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens June 12, 2009. (via Joblo)

Next up is a new poster for Rob Zombie's "H2: Halloween 2." It's very similar to the poster released previously. The film will pick up immediately where the first one ended.

Scroll down and you will also come across a new poster for "Crank 2: High Voltage," in which Jason Statham faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.

Finally, STYD has posted the new poster for "The Last House on the Left," a horror flick about a family who tries everything to kill the people who kidnapped their daughter. Film opens March 13.

'Halloween 2' gets release date

The folks over at ShockTillYouDrop can confirm that Rob Zombie's "H2: Halloween 2" will open nationwide Aug. 28, 2009.

Picking the end of August for a release already paid off for the first remake of "Halloween," which started Aug. 31, 2007 and ended up delivering a $30.5 million opening weekend.

STYD also received a sneak peek at the new Michael Myers mask, which you can check out in the pic to the left. Note that this is just an outline, and definitely not the final mask.

Other than that, all we know is that the second film kicks off immediately where the last one ended. Tyler Man will also return as Michael.

Let me wrap this up with some words Zombie posted on his blog: "If you thought Michael was fucked before, you ain't seen nothing yet! He is bigger, meaner and more psycho than Dr. Loomis ever thought possible."
