Nicolas Cage returns in 'Ghost Rider 2'

How about some "Ghost Rider" sequel/reboot news? I know it's not exactly the most exciting news, but "Ghost Rider 2" will definitely happen, and Nicolas Cage confirmed he will indeed return as well!

ComingSoon picked up the news via "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Cage said he will be back as Johnny Blaze. He also said the team of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will direct the film.

The sequel is titled "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" for now. Does the disappointing "Ghost Rider" need a sequel? No, but someone out there thinks so. Guess we will be seeing Cage in 3D flames soon...

'Ghost Rider 2' without Cage? Anyone care?

Columbia is apparently pushing hard to get a "Ghost Rider 2" film going as soon as possible, and Vulture says the studio may even develop the project without Nicolas Cage. No, it's not that Cage is fed up with the biker on fire, but Columbia is about to lose the rights to the franchise, and that's why.

Cage has already expressed interest in a sequel to 2007's "Ghost Rider," which sucked and only grossed $115 million domestically. But considering he's such a busy man at the moment, he may not be available if Columbia started production this November (which is when the rights jump back to Marvel).

"Ghost Rider" is one of those films that really don't need a sequel, and if they do it without Cage, they better find another big name so cinemagoers don't lose the interest that is left in the franchise. Personally, I say screw "Rider 2" and move on to something that actually doesn't suck and can make a lot of moola.

Geat ready! 'Ghost Rider 2' is on the way...

Let me tell you: I sincerely hoped "Ghost Rider" would never make a comeback. I mean, Mark Steven Johnson's 2007 action flick with Nicolas Cage sucked so bad, I thought they would bury the damn thing and just let it go.

I was wrong, obviously, because in today's world, Hollywood is all about rebooting pretty much anything out there. That said, "Ghost Rider 2" is now officially on the way, courtesy of Columbia Pictures, and this according to Variety.
