Robert Duvall, Bill Murray in 'Get Low' trailer

Bill Murray and Robert Duvall are teaming up in Aaron Schneider's upcoming comedy-drama "Get Low," and a first feature trailer for the movie is now online. It's quite charming, so check it out below.

Duvall plays Felix Bush, an eccentric man who heads to a funeral home owner (Murray) to ask for a funeral party... even though he's clearly not dead yet. Co-starring as Murray's apprentice is Lucas Black.

Schneider wrote the screenplay with Gaby Mitchell and Chris Provenzano. Sissy Spacek co-stars as well. "Get Low" promises light humor and great performances, and the movie opens July 30, 2010.

Monday film news roundup: Donner wants more 'X-Men'; Sony Pictures swings 'Machete'

Here is a list of recent film news and posts I either missed or simply didn't have time to cover earlier:

• Star producer Lauren Shuler Donner (she's done all the "X-Men" flicks) says she would like to develop a lot more mutant films. On her wishlist are "X4" and "The New Mutants." Read more about it at /Film.

• Sony Pictures picked up the rights to Robert Rodriguez's "Machete," which stars Danny Trejo, Rose McGowan, Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro and is currently shooting. Oh, and Lindsay Lohan's in it too. (THR)

• In related Sony news, the studio has set advance screenings for Kenny Ortega's Michael Jackson doc "This Is It." This will happen on Oct. 27, 2009, on which 15 simultaneous premiere events will be held worldwide. (Variety)

Bill Murray, Lucas Black join 'Get Low'

Bill Murray and Lucas Black have signed on to star in Zanuck Co.'s upcoming thriller "Get Low."

Aaron Schneider is directing the film, which Variety says is based on the true story of Felix "Bush" Breazeale, "a Tennessee recluse who planned his own funeral in 1938 while he was still alive and could enjoy it."

Schneider wrote the screenplay with Gaby Mitchell and Chris Provenzano. Shooting is expected to kick off this week in Georgia.

Murray was last seen as an evil mayor in "City of Ember." Upcoming projects of his include Jim Jarmusch's "The Limits of Control" and Wes Anderson's "Fantastic Mr. Fox." Both directors worked with Murray before.

As for Black, his acting gigs include "The Fast and the Furious: Tokto Drift," "Jarhead" and "Friday Night Lights." He'll also show up in Scott Charles Stewart's upcoming "Legion."

Schneider recently served as second unit director on Gary Fleder's "The Express."
