Terrence Howard boards 'Red Tails'

And another WWII flick is heading our way. It's titled "Red Tails," and it will star Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Lee Tergesen, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelley, Andre Royo and Jesse Williams.

According to Variety, the plot follows a group of pilots who took a stand against racism in the military and became the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American fighter pilots in the U.S. military. John Ridley, screenwriter of "U Turn" and "Undercover Brother," wrote the script.

Anthony Hemingway, whose credits include episodes for "ER," "CSI: NY" and "The Wire," is set to direct the project, which George Lucas will executive produce. Lucasfilm will also back the film financially.

Terrence Howard, who starred in "Iron Man" but won't return for the sequel, can next be seen alongside Channing Tatum in "Fighting."

Harrison Ford says 'Indy 5' may happen

Now that Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" grossed $316.8 million domestically and about $770 million worldwide, it's no surprise the guys behind the film are already thinking about another sequel. After all, it's all about the money and not the quality, right?

In a recent interview with Geoff Boucher at the Los Angeles Times, Harrison Ford said George Lucas is already working on an idea for a fifth "Indiana Jones" film.

"It's crazy but great. George is in think mode right now," Ford told Boucher. "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again."

While I didn't exactly hate "Crystal Skull," I wasn't really impressed by the latest installment either. I personally don't need to see another Indy adventure, but who knows, maybe you do?

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' web reviews

Not that many people went to see "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" this weekend, and I guess some of it has to do with the film's rather weak quality. Most of the nation's top critics didn't like the film at all, and as you can see below, critics on the Web didn't give it a warm welcome either (well, there is an exception). Now I'm really wondering who's going to tune in when the animated television series debuts this fall. We'll see what's left to discover in the galaxy far, far away.

• Josh Tyler at CinemaBlend: "For the first movie about something which George Lucas describes as the “World War II of Star Wars”, it’s decidedly small scale. After an interesting, large-scale ground battle it quickly falls back into the same, small, bookended commando style, ground missions we saw in the live-action movies."

RopeOfSilicon's Brad Brevet: "Sure, there are blasters and light sabers, but guess what, we have seen that before... many times. Oh wait, but this time they are animated and weilded by bobble-headed dolls! Well, damn, I guess that makes it super-stupid. My bad."

• Ron Henriques at LatinoReview: "What once was a landmark and influential piece of entertainment is now slowly turning into some cosmic joke.  I'm sure his defense for this piece is that like the original films, it is a fairytale for children."

Review: "The Star Wars: The Clone Wars"

Seen on: August 16, 2008

The players: Director: Dave Filoni, Writers: Henry Gilroy, Steven Melching, Scott Murphy, Cast (Voices): Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Dee Bradley Baker, Tom Kane, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson

Facts of interest: It's the first "Star Wars" flick not released by 20th Century Fox.

The plot: Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi set out to secure a crucial treaty with Jabba the Hutt.

Our quick thoughts: “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” proves the force is no longer with George Lucas. The Dave Filoni-directed animated feature offers viewers nothing they haven’t seen yet in past “Star Wars” flicks, suffering from weak storytelling and a bunch of incredibly monotonous action sequences. Indeed, things are not like they used to be in the galaxy far, far away…
