Five worst films of the summer of '08

The summer season at the movies has come to and end, and it's time to look back at what films really stank this year. Here are the five worst films of the summer of '08.

5. MIRRORS
While he kicks serious butt on television, Kiefer Sutherland is not exactly a hero on the big screen, and his stunt in "Mirrors" is pretty much disastrous. Besides a series of cheap shock effects and a couple of ridiculous twists, Alexandre Aja's disappointing horror remake barely has anything to offer for the return of the price of admission. Scares and an intriguing story are absent.

The players: Director: Ben Stassen, Writer: Domonic Paris, Cast (Voices): Christopher Lloyd, Robert Patrick, Nicollette Sheridan, Tim Curry

Facts of interest: First ever animated movie created exclusively for 3-D.

The plot: Three flies sneak onto Apollo 11 to accompany the astronauts to the moon.

Our quick thoughts: When you promote a film as the first ever animated movie created for 3-D, you should at least assume people will go to the theater with high expectations. Well, if you’re still planning to see Ben Stassen’s “Fly Me to the Moon,” don’t get too excited quite yet.
