Emma Stone offered lead in 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

It looks like we’re finally going to see Elizabeth Bennet as a redhead. Emma Stone has been offered the role to star in the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s outrageously successful novel “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.”

Stone ("Easy A") seems to fit the part, considering she already has experience with the undead, hanging out alongside Bill Murray and Jesse Eisenberg in “Zombieland.”  She delivered a pretty solid performance in that flick, by the way.

Stone’s work load doesn’t look like it's going to slow down any time soon. According to Movieline, she will be seen in three movies this summer, “Friends with Benefits,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and “The Help,” before starring in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” which is set to release in 2012.

Instead of the mildly stubborn, soft spoken Kiera Knightly we saw in Joe Wright's “Pride and Prejudice,” we can look forward to watching Stone dish out round house kicks while wielding automatic weapons.

First look at Emma Stone in 'The Help'

Tate Taylor'a big-screen adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's popular novel "The Help" is currently in production, and the first stills have showed up online. Check them out above and right after the jump.

The film stars Emma Stone, and the story follows what happens when a southern town's unspoken code of rules and behavior is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Mike Vogel, Sissy Spacek, Viola Davis and Jessica Chastai co-star. A release date for "The Help" is currently planned for Aug. 12, 2011. I never read it, but my wife did and she loved it.

Rhys Ifans is the villain in 'Spider-Man'

Rhys Ifans

Now that Emma Stone is cast as Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb's upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot, it's time to focus on the villain, and Columbia today announced actor Rhys Ifans will play the bad guy this time.

"After seeing his performance in our upcoming film 'Anonymous,' we're in awe of his talent and think he's the perfect choice to take on this role," said Columbia Pictures' Matt Tolmach about the deal.

Nobody would comment on what character Ifans will end up playing, but I definitely buy him as a bad boy. James Vanderbilt wrote the "Spider-Man" script, and Andre Garfield will play Peter Parker.

Movie Review: "Easy A"

Seen on: August 28, 2010

The players: Director: Will Gluck, Writer: Bert V. Royal, Cast: Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Amanda Bynes, Penn Badgley, Dan Byrd, Alyson Michalka

Facts of interest: Will Gluck also helmed "Fired Up!"

The plot: Emma Stone plays a teenager spreading a lie about losing her virginity. Next thing you know, she's the center of attention at her high school...

Our thoughts: I’ll have to give “Easy A” a C. No, I didn’t exactly hate Will Gluck’s new comedy about a high-school chick spreading a bunch of lies, but the film simply failed to live up to my expectations. It’s definitely a step up from Gluck’s previous disaster “Fired Up!,” but when it comes to ideal comic timing, he’s not quite there yet. He’s close for sure, but this latest effort misses the mark a tad too often.

Interesting trailer for 'Paper Man' hits

Check this out. A new trailer for Kieran and Michele Mulroney's new comedy drama "Paper Man" has debuted online, and I recommend you check it out after the jump. My first impressions are very positive, and I'm excited to see this great cast peform in what looks like a simple, yet quite intriguing drama.

Jeff Daniels plays Richard, a failed novelist suffering from writer's block who strikes up a friendship with a young woman (played by Emma Stone). Also starring is Ryan Reynolds, who plays a costumed superhero that exists only in Richard's mind. Lisa Kudrow is co-starring, and the film opens April 23, 2010.
